Secure a summer of running, hiking, and biking with the Columbia Men's Mountain Tech T-Shirt. This performance tee dries quickly and wards off harmful UV rays with UPF-15 rated material. The Mountain Tech's Omni-Dry polyester fabric wicks perspiration away from you skin so you can go the extra mile without feeling sweaty. Columbia finished this short-sleeve shirt with an antimicrobial treatment to keep B.O. at bay.
Bottom Line: The Columbia Mountain Tech T-Shirt lets you play hard without the funky aftermath.
This shirt compares well to my old Nike DryFit UV t-shirts. There's a small, unobtrusive "Columbia Titanium" logo on the L chest area. The collar "tag" is printed on the inside of the shirt material, with a soft fabric care tag sewn to the inside, lower side seam. The fabric is silken and sheer, with lots of stretch and flat seams. Sizing is accurate or just a little large. XL weight is 210 grams.
I don't know about durability yet, but at $30, it's a good shirt; the current sale price of $15 makes it an excellent value.
Would have been 5 starts, but there is a logo on the front of the shirt that is not in the picture. I have about 8 of these shirts from over the years and I do not like the logo on them. I don't believe it is appropriate marketing and would not have ordered it if I would have known. The picture should match the product. I was happy that they are active-fit.
Titanium is Columbia's highest-end products which feature their most fanciest fabric technologies. See their site for more info: http://www.columbia.com/Category/4/Titanium.aspx
I bought this for a friend and I liked it on him so much that I bought 3 women's versions for myself. The fabric is mid-weight and good for layering or wearing alone on cool to warm spring days. We haven't had a chance to try them out for summer yet so I don't know how they will perform in really hot weather, but the fabric doesn't snag on every little thing it comes in contact with (like the more expensive Patagonia Airius T-Shirt, which I also bought for my friend, does).
It's decent. I wore it hiking with a pack on, and my back got sweaty but I didn't really notice it the dampness until I took the pack off and the cold wind blew. The fabric dries at a moderate pace, certainly faster than cotton, but not super quick.
I bought this for my 17 year old son to take with him on an adventure hike in NM next month. He's worn it several times and loves it. The orange is just a beautiful color and looks great on. I think it will be a 'must-have' on his trip. I noticed he slept in it the other day, got up, and went to Church, still had the same shirt on, not a wrinkle on it. Hey, what do I care, I've learned to pick my battles. Thank goodness for the shirt is all I can say. He still looked great. I may buy him some more....
Anonymous 12341234, this is Columbia's top shelf technical T shirt. Technical in the sense that it is synthetic (100% omni dry polyester) opposed to your regular 100% cotton tee shirt. This being said, it is built to wick moisture very well. I hope you find this information beneficial.
I tend to perspire heavily in general. These have been my favorites for about 2 years. I have done away with cotton T-shirts in warm/humid weather, because these are so much drier and more comfortable, and really soft. Not scratchy like many "performance" fabrics.
I love this shirt. The weight is perfect for East Tennessee summers in the Smokies. I have a lighter weight Mountain Hardwear shirt and as soon as you stop you start to get slightly chilled. Not with this shirt. Wicks the sweat and keeps your core at a nice temperature. Worth every cent.
I was reluctant to buy any synthetic shirt, because I never had any problems with my cotton t-shirts. I bought the first one and quickly bought two more. They are great for any outdoor activity (hiking, fishing, exercise, etc...). These mountain Tech T-shirts are very comfortable, cool, lightweight, and they fit like a regular T-shirt (I don't like form-fitting stuff). Give 'em a try.
