Pick you way through the scrub brush with the Columbia Men's Venture Convertible Pants protecting your shins, and zip the legs off when you need to cross the stream on your way back to camp. Columbia made these convertible pants with quick-drying Omni-Dry fabric and a UPF 50 rating for long days out on the trail where you expect the unexpected. The quick and easy leg zip system turns the Venture Convertible Pant into shorts, which comes in handy on long days on the trail. Whether you spend the day on the trail, or walking through town, the Venture Pant's roomy cargo pockets and zippered hand pockets stow your cell phone, keys, lip balm, or GPS unit.
Bottom Line: Why choose between shorts and pants when you can have both with the Columbia Venture Convertible Pant.
Great Pants, bought two pairs to use on a week long hike through the Bitteroot Mtns in Montana. They are lightweight and more durable then I supposed they would be. They dry very quickly and are very comfortable to wear if you don't mind a somewhat baggy fit. Sizing is a little small in the waist but length is ok.
Good garment in terms of style and functionality. Be careful in ordering size (length) because they shrink when first washed. 32" inseam became 30" inseam and it looked like I was wearing shorts without unzipping the convertible legs.
The grommeted "button" separated after the 3rd wearing. A sewn button lasts a lot longer. The zipper on a leg separated from the zipper cloth on another pair I own. Mother "C" would not be happy with these samples of workmanship.
10" inseam on the shorts. I got these pants for Christmas and they are ok. The fabric feels a little more natural than The North Face convertible pants. There were many threads that needed to be cut off. The Velcro fastening side pockets do not like to stay closed and should have two Velcro pads instead of one. They are comfortable but seemed to shrink a little. I am not very impressed with the quality of these pants compared to some other top outdoors brands.
i really like these pants. they are very versatile and allow for ample comfort. the only thing i would reccommend is that you be careful of the sizing. They run a bit small. If in doubt go with a size bigger in the waist...the length is pretty accurate.

These are the worst paints I have ever purchased! The button broke before I ever got the chance to wear them outside. After I sewed on a new button I went on a hike and they ripped on the seam of the cargo pocket while I took a high step onto a rock. If I am going to pay this price for a pair of paints they had better last me for more than one hike!
the length of the shorts and pants were perfect. Great to hike up the mtn in the heat in shorts mode and at the top when we stopped and got chilly, i was so glad i could turn them into pants.
These are great pants. I just used them for a week-long trek through the High sierra and loved them. Durable, lightweight, convenient. But beware! They do run a little short. I had to reorder a size larger because a 32 inseam is less than 31 inches with my measuring tape.
Very light weight, quick drying, and has ample pockets. Velcro openings at bottom are very useful. Great for hot weather anytime, and light hiking, but not good for serious hiking - these pants provide minimal protection from abrasion, thorns, etc. Minor pilling noticed, but it's not too bad. Also, pants are supposed to be 'active fit', but I have a slim frame and there is some excess material near the waist that interferes with range of motion slightly. Good pair of pants, but could be better.
safety colors, sporty reflective striping and piping, certainly would make outside games better for peace of mind. those pants are the greatest, every pocket in constant use. every feature in zippers used. Thank You
These pants are made of lightweight and potentially comfortable fabric but the design is so baggy and uncomfortable to wear, there's little to recommend. I returned these.
