Cloudveil Headwall Jacket - Men's - 2006

When you need one jacket that performs in the backcountry and looks the part at the local mountain watering hole, then you need the Cloudveil Men's Headwall Jacket. This Windstopper Softshell takes on burly weather like a champ. The Polarec microfleece lined collar keeps your neck chafe-free. Snap cuff wrist closures and a storm sealing collar keep that fluffy powder out, while contrast stitching and bartack detailing gets you noticed by that cute local liftie.

Bottom Line: Go on a full-on mountain town tour and bring along one jacket—the Cloudveil Headwall Jacket.

Performance with style

Like the other reviewers, I wanted a soft shell that had more casual versatility than my other pieces. Cloudveil has filled this gap nicely with the Headwall. Compared to the Gamma SV, stretch and breathability is not as good for hiking but the Headwall blocks wind better, has better neck protection (higher collar with cinch) and the hand pockets are placed lower for easy access. The fit is great and allows for a midweight base layer and a light fleece underneath but it tends to run large. I am 6ft with 42” chest and usually take a large from others but the medium fits me perfectly. I am stoked with this jacket – from peak to street. Well worth 250 bucks.

Bargain

I bought this in Tarmac as I travel a lot for work and want to travel light, but hit the slopes if I can. It's smart enough to wear to meetings and on the slopes it is warm and very water-resistant. Bargain price for great jacket.

LOVE IT!

I bought this jacket because it looked like a slick, functional town jacket, and it is. But I love the way it goes from street to slope, not to sound like an advertisement. I never take this off and love the slight western design theme and the fleece backing inside.
