When you're traveling with a buddy or your sweetheart, MSR's lightweight Alpine Classic Cookware Set equips you with a 1.5- and 2-liter pot, lid, and pan handler so you can cook easily for two. The durable, stainless steel pots fit together for easy packing, and most MSR stoves fit inside the nested pots, so you can carry everything safely in your backpack. Best of all, the Alpine Classic Cookware set only weighs 26 ounces. The Alpine Classic Cookware Set's PanHandler Pot Lifter saves your fingers from getting burned, and the lid fits both pots. Pack MSR's set in the included stuff sack and hit the trail.
Bottom Line: Whether you're hanging out on a big rock wall or camping in the backcountry, MSR's 26 ounce Alpine Classic Cookset delivers.
i've owned these for 7 years and they still work as good as new. easy cleaning and perfect size to feed 2-3 people. any more in your crew and you will want a bigger cookset.
If you're looking @ cookware for two or more that will last forever, this is it. Nests & stores very nicely Extremely durable & heats evenly. Cleans up very nicely with a little soap & water, "Scotch" pad, or sand. Blue discolorations caused be overheating can be removed with copper cleaner. A bit heavy, but if weight is not an issue, this cookware set is for you.
This is the ultimate backpacking cookset. If you are cooking for more than 2, or cooking for 2 really hungry people look no further. Yes aluminum is lighter, but not that much lighter. With aluminum you also have to protect the non-stick coating. This set is bomb-proof. The lid can be a frying pan as well. If the pans get real dirty, just rinse it out with rocks, sand, & water. The clean up is easy. I am beyond satisfied.
This is a great set if you are heading into the backcountry for 2-4 days with dry goods or pasta or rice. Lightweight, stays clean and will last you along time.
Good, sturdy cookware with a nice handle tool. Only complaint is that it's a little heavy. If you're only doing dehydrated backpacking meals (and therefore only need to boil water), leave the smaller pot at home. With only the larger pot, lid, and handle, the whole package is lighter and gives you just the right amount of space for packing a stove, pump, measuring cup, and lighter inside. Very convenient, all-in-one package.
Had this set for 6 years. Bought it with the MSR Whisperlite International which fits inside this set. Very durable. Don't heat these without water in them as they will warp. Not that it will affect the performance though. I like having new gear but still after 6 years I can't justify replacing them. Beside I would just buy the same set anyway.
Everything fits together very well, the grip works very. They work as well as what I use at home. Not the lightest, but worth the money. I'm happy with what I bought.
