CAMP USA XLC 390 Crampon - 2008

Camp gave the 13.8-ounce XLC 390 Crampon a telemark boot-compatible toe bail to make it the standout choice for ski mountaineering with telemark or AT gear. Clamp these ultralight aluminum Camp crampons on your boots when the going gets steep, the snow gets hard, and your skis need to ride on your pack. The XLC 390 Crampons weight so little you won't even notice you have them on your boots except for the incredible traction.

Bottom Line: Skiing the steeps? Make sure you have the Camp XLC 390 Crampons to help you get there.

Great for ski touring and ski mountaineering

By:

I got these in chamonix,I thought they were expensive.
But they they have paid off and they are well worth it!
Light on the feet when climbing, and if you do not pull them out of your pack, you barely notice the weight.
They have got me out of some interesting situations.
Make sure they fit your puts before you use them, they tend to pop off once and a while.
And be carefull on hard ice climbs they will bend.
Awesome for what they are intended for!

Perfect

I can't think of a way to improve these other than to make them lighter. For ski mountaineering, they're perfect. Paired with the Camp superlight axe it's a great set-up. I would stay away from verticle water ice with them, but they're light enough to keep in your ski pack for when you need 'em. They fit AT boots great.

Built for the job

Fantastic light weight crampons, plain and simple. Climb hard snow and ice (moderate angle) very well. The perfect set of crampons for ski mountaineering/mountaineering. I wouldn't use these on hard alpine routes though as they would probably become dull quite quickly and not offer to much support.

Great lightweight crampon for ski mountaineering in the Wasatch. Have used these numerous times and they have never failed me. Great investment, highly recommended.
