Made with durable nylon and burly zippers and a 3L reservoir, CamelBak's Mayhem Hydration Pack takes your adrenaline-crazed bike rides and rough gravel crashes in stride. Store your digital camera or music player in CamelBak's heavily padded and weather-resistant media pocket and bring home proof of your trail pandemonium. Stash an extra jacket and some bike tools in the main compartment. The Mayhem Hydration Pack's back panel ventilation system keeps you cool, and the comfortable harness and waist-belt stabilize your load as you bounce off boulders. Gear straps with quick-release buckles hold your helmet and shin guards on your way back up.
Bottom Line: Trust your CamelBak Mayhem Hydration Pack to get you through the worst of it.
Probably one of the greatest outdoor innovations to outdoor activities in our time. Alright, maybe that is a little overzealous of a description, but this water system is revolutionary none-the-less. While keeping you a few degrees cooler with the water on your back, as well as your hands free to ride your bike, look at a map, or hold the hand of your lover while you hike, this system is ready for action. I wish the top, where you fill up the bladder, was easier to open, but just twist with all your might and you can get it open. Otherwise, this is a outdoor playtime must, but for me it is best Mt. Biking.
Life is so full of experiences where gear that you bought just didn't live up to the hype of the marketing. THIS is not one of those experiences.
I needed a pack to do a few things:
1 - carry water 2 - hold my keys and wallet 3 - carry emergency bike repair kit 4 - carry my ipod up high so I'd have a short run for the earphone
The Camelbak Mayhem does all of that perfectly. Perfectly. It's a wonderfully versatile and tough pack that can carry a lot of gear if you need it to. It does all of this very comfortably. Its light enough and designed well enough that it wont interfere with anything youre doing on the bike. It doesnt rub or chafe anywhere. Unless you have something super heavy in it like a bag of concrete you wont even notice it while youre riding.
The hydration pack has a huge opening up top...so big that I can use the ice and water dispenser on my fridge to fill it up...I don't need to put ice in by hand or use the sink to fill it. AND this opening is big enough that I can fit my whole hand through it this makes clean up a breeze. Ive got a big hand too this is a very important feature for being able to keep your hydration bag clean and dry after you use it.
Light, tough, durable, and versatile. I'm actually happy I spent the 90 bucks on this thing...it's not often you'll catch me saying that. This gear is worth every penny.
I wish I could say that my skills have improved because of the bag or that my race times are shorter or that all the chicks stop me to ask me out while I'm wearing it but that would be overplaying my hand. It is what it is...a very good hydration pack/gear bag. Get one....now.
My favorite road ride takes me up 2,500 feet in elevation in 10 miles. On the way back down, it's almost entirely downhill and cold, so I carry a shell and a Sporthill XC shirt on the way up in this pack along with my water. I like how the new Camelbaks have the water bladder area accessed with a long zipper from the back. It is easy to get the bladder in and out. It is expandable enough to take along my Windstopper soft shell in the fall when it really gets cold. I also have the Camelbak Mule for rides when I just want to carry the bladder, a bit of food, and a shell. I also trailrun with the Mule. I like how it is not as wide and conforms to your back better than a traditional pack.
After researching outdoor packs without being able to physically "size them up" in a storefront, I ordered from this site. The order arrived not only in good condition, but earlier than expected. A nice surprise! Unfortunately, upon physically handling the pack for the first time I realized it was larger than I estimated and I decided to return it. This site's policy of "customer satisfaction 100% guaranteed" made the decision to return it easy, but, in all honesty, I anticipated incurring the hassles that customers typically experience. I am very pleased to report that both the purchase and the return were extremely smooth, hassle-free transactions. I am sure to do business with this site again, as well as tell my friends that the excellent customer service they expect from all but receive from few, can be found here!
