CamelBak Better Bottle .50L Water Bottle - 2007

Use the Big Bite Valve on CamelBak's .50L Bottle and hydrate without splashing yourself in the face. This water bottle is a great, compact size for your workout at the gym or studying at school. Just bite down on the valve to drink, and watch it self-seal after each drink to eliminate dripping. Snap the Big Bite Valve down for leak-proof transportation. Pop CamelBak's .50L Water Bottle into the dishwasher and keep it squeaky clean.

Bottom Line: Bring CamelBak's .50L Big Bite Valve Water Bottle in your backpack or work bag for daily dry-face hydrating.

BPA Safe - New and Improved

By:
May 5, 2008

I had the older version of this bottle (the .5L Water Bottle) and then all the news came out about BPA. To correct another review, #7 on a bottle doesn't mean it's not safe - #7 just means it doesn't fit in with the other recycling numbers (check Wikipedia). It's the PC on the bottom that means it's polycarbonate, and that's what has the BPA.

The good news is that Camelbak has already come out with their Better Bottle line, which is made of Tritan, with no BPA.

If you'd like more on this, check out this informative PDF:

So yeah, good bottle, now improved.

Stop spending money on disposable water bottles!

By:

One day I looked in my recycling bin and found about 50 water bottles... So I thought there must be a better way. I saw something on TV promoting the camelbak water bottle and WOW not only are they dishwasher safe (top rack) but they won't open in my diaper bag like the Poland Spring Sport water bottles! They are BPA free and SAFE.
I also purchased the .50L for my 9 year old niece who plays soccer --- all her friends think she's the coolest!! Drinking from the straw makes it much easier to drink the recommended amount of water you need each day!!! Give it a try.

awesome

Funny story, I ordered the .50L bottle & meant to get the 1 Liter, so I gave the smaller one to my friend's 9 yr old daughter & she absolutely loved it. All the kids at her school were asking her where she got it & how they could get one. Anyway I reordered the 1 liter & got another one for my friend. We are all very happy & get plenty of water every day. There is something about drinking from a straw that somehow makes it easier to get the hydration that you need every day. I am very happy with my camel back.

Thanks
Again

Looks weird but it's functional

Ok, so sometimes I feel like I am using a sippy cup when I drink out of this and will fit in just great with the 3 year olds. But really, how nice to just take a drink without having to do any of the head bobbing and arm lifting? The best is when I can roll over in the middle of the night and take a drink without having to sit up! If you are someone with about a billion Nalgene bottles, give this one a whirl, it's kinda fun!

This is an awesome water bottle for climbing with. The hole is perfect for attaching to me and unlike with the Nalgene, it can't come off. The size is also perfect for a long day on a climb.

I spill my nalgene all over me in the car, my sigg bottle is also a bit tricky to drink out of in the car or while walking. This is great because it is like having a straw and you can drop it or throw it down and you do not have liquid everywhere. It is easy to drink out of, it is like camelbak, but easier to suck the liquid out of than my camelbak is.

It has a loop. You need to buy your own carabiner, but you can use it to hook the loop to your clothes or gear.

CAMELBAK BETTER BOTTLE .50L

By:
April 24, 2008

I was looking for good quality, SAFE water bottles. I read your review on these bottles and then I find out that the #7 bottle really isn't considered SAFE. Now I need to return the two that I bought and look for #1, #2 or #4 - too bad because I really like the bottle style!!

Spill-proof and all

This water bottle is nice. The hook is great for attaching to the chest strap of our Kelty Kid carrier (or a backpack). Also fits well into a bike water bottle holder.
