The Burton Men’s Ruler Snowboard Boot combines the right amount of flex and support to let you reign on any terrain, from powdery steeps to park jumps. Burton’s 270-degree cushioning and EVA footbeds absorb shock from hard landings, and Speed Zone lacing gets you ready to ride in mere seconds.
New oversized 270-degree airbag covers 75% of the midsole to absorb impact when you land
Speed Zone zonal lacing lets you adjust how tight you want your boots around your insteps and ankles
Power Spine backstays on the boot shells offer excellent lateral and medial response and support
Power Panels in the liners ensure these boots retain the same flex, rebound, and support on day 101 as you experienced on day one
The heat-moldable, lace-up Imprint 2 liners feature J-bars for heel hold
I absolutely love this boot. It's one of the stiffer Burton boots and I largely ride all-mountain with less freestyle so these are perfect for me. It's very comfortable, very warm, and well-made all around. I believe the newer models of these boots (09' and on) are made so that the outside dimensions are one size smaller (without affecting the inside dimensions) than the previous years models. This makes the boots fairly compact and light, easy to walk in, and easy to fit into most bindings. I've found the speedzone lacing (with upper and lower zones) to be very fast and extremely easy although not quite as customizable in terms of different zonal tightening as traditional laces. The Imprint 2 liner is also well made and has molded to my feet well after about 2 days on the snow with fairly minimal packing after about 20 days on the snow. I bought a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear to get the correct fit, but take this with a grain of salt since everyone's feet are different. Definitely try out these boots, but personally I've been very happy with them.
