Do the pockets have any kind of zipper so things don't fall

Do the pockets have any kind of zipper so things don't fall out? From the picture it doesn't look like it, but sometimes they are inside?

That is correct, they do not have a zipper... However, the way the pockets work is they sit deep down. So, the entrance to the pocket is above and the pocket sits all the way down to the ribbing.

Unless someone is hanging you upside down by the toes and shakes you, I am confident you can feel secure about not having to lose anything :)

burton is pretty good at their merchandising, so there are a lot of carry over patterns in the 'Day Hiker' as as teh 'Rider' but only the Women's and only some of the polka dots...
