Burton Ion Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton outfitted the Men’s Ion Snowboard Boot with a low-profile EST midsole to bring you closer to your board for response and better board feel. Burton added its RX Adjustable Cushioning System to these boots, which enables you to choose your padding based on snow conditions or the kind of riding you’re doing. Using the system is simple: before you pull on your Ions, take out the liners, and put either the included gel or air cartridges into the heel chambers.

  • Burton’s RX adjustable system lets you choose the dampening of B3 Gel or the responsiveness and cushioning of air
  • Speed Zone zonal lacing lets you adjust how tight you want your boots around your insteps and ankles
  • Power Spine backstays on the boot shells offer excellent lateral and medial response and support
  • The heat-moldable Imprint 4 liners feature Focus Cuffs that hug your ankles to enhance heel hold
  • The liners’ EZ Entry panels reduce friction so you don’t feel like you’re trying to shove your feet into women’s boots
  • InfiniFIT EVA soles in the liners cushion feet and won’t pack out after half a season
  • Power Panels in the liners ensure these boots retain the same flex, rebound, and support on day 101 as you experienced on day one
  • Outlast Adaptive Comfort Technology means these boots’ liners are smart enough to absorb excess heat and then release that heat when your feet get cold.

Bottom Line: These boots have more high-tech features than the average rocket-ship.

Great Boot!

Great boots. Warm, kept my foot dry. I have short, fat feet. I wear 10 1/2 shoe size, a 10 fits me perfectly. I gave it a 4 star because the laces felt a little flimsy for a $400 boot and it's a big pain for me to get my feet into the boot compared to some others Ive used. Super comfortable, looks great and cleans easily too!

I've been sporting the Burton ION's now for the last 3 season. They are an excellent fit and I've yet to find another pair of boots to rival them for fit and comfort.

My original pair were the regular lace-up's and I never had any problems with them. They just got worn out!
My 2nd pair sported the Speed Zone lacing system which is quicker, and much better at distributing pressure evenly across the boot. The only downside was that the early boots suffered from a lot of problems with the plastic guide for the lace being pulled out of the boot when you pull the lace system. Burton replaced the boots without any fuss and the 2nd pair have lasted out 12 weeks now!

The only other issue I have is that over the 12 weeks the boots have really softened up... this is not a problem as long as you keep hold of the bones that slide into the tongues of the boot

I would have give the Burton ION's only 3 stars, but the excellent warranty pushes to the boots to "pretty cool" - 4 stars

These are pretty good boots. I have had 3 pairs of ions and I do prefer traditional lace-up boots. The eyelets pulled out after about 2 months. Burton will warranty, but it takes awhile. The boot is comfortable and very compact, which means you will probably have to adjust your straps before you take these out for the first time. Make sure you try them in your bindings and secure a good fit before you shred the ganr.
