Disappointment

I was hoping these Burtons would be THE ONE pair of mittens I would ever need for many winters of outdoor activities-for the price it's what I would expect. I used the size guide and order a women's medium but the the thumb is about half the length it should be. They seem defective except both the left and right mittens are made the same way. I think they would be toasty and the leather is soft but there is no way to grip a ski pole or anything without a thumb! Sorry to break to ya but they are a disappointment.
