I have a pair of older style Brunton bottles, w/ one piece cap. They function well. The newer spring loaded cap is to be avoided. Breaks easily, often doesn't seal well. More negative reviews at Amazon. I tried contacting Brunton directly, no response whatsoever. Upgrade to Primus or MSR, you won't regret it.

I mean what do you expect from a fuel bottle, the cap is solid and it does what it should.

One problem though is when I received my bottle, it was obviously used...its a fuel bottle not really a big deal, but whatever was it caused some green stuff to grow and had a rather bad stinch when I opened it. Anyways not the bottle's problem, I just think you should at least get a clean bottle (especially if you think you're getting a new one).

No complaints about this bottle. It works perfectly with my Optimus Nova stove.

I used these to hold extra gas as I traveled on my motorbike from Salt Lake City to Oregon and down the coast. The climate changed quite a bit, but the bottles held tightly in place and never leaked. Even with all the rattling.

These containers are really nice and work well for fuel for my alcohol stove. Only wish they had more color designs to choose from.

I have a couple from about 8 years ago that are a pretty blue and red. They have worked great for storing liquid paraffin for my oil lamps at home. Just don't use the tops that have a flow spout on them (ex: REI Super Pour Spout) because they leak. The tops that come with these bottles though, are leak proof and no problem.

Spend the money to get good fuel canisters, you won't regret it.
