The Bridgedale Light Hiker Socks combine Merino Wool with MMS CoolMax® wicking technology for dry, comfortable feet. Designed specifically to maximize the performance of waterproof, breathable footwear. These socks feature arch supports to prevent movement, smooth toe seams, and a cusioned foot for impact absorption and comfort.
Bottom Line: Do your feet a favor and put them in some Light Hiker socks.
An Army friend recommended these Light Hikers for wear in uniform with my combat boots, and he was right. These socks are awesome -- the best socks for boots I've found in 21+ years of the military. I'm testing them out in Iraq now, and they work great. My feet stay comfortable and dry all day long. I will not buy any other brand of socks from now on.
Best dry comfort of the Bridgedale socks I have tried, good padding and very comfortable. Wick better than the trekker sock and your feet stay dry all day.
These socks are the best for hiking. Theyre nicely padded and wicked moisture away from my foot. I thought my feet would get really hot in the wool, but was pleasantly surprised. If you are expecting something more like you wear with tennis shoes to the gym, this is not it. If you want a durable hiking sock, this is the one for you.
If you want to keep your feet dry and blister free, then buy these socks! I have worn Thorlos for years, and there is no comparison! The seams, padding, and overall build on the Bridgedales is far superior to any sock we have worn. I wear a 9 mens and my wife an 8 womens, and we can use the same socks, due to Bridgedale's unisex sizing. The same pair fits both of us just fine. You will find yourself wanting to wear these socks all the time, even off the trail. They wash and dry just fine, just turn them inside out before washing.
I used four pairs of these socks on a recent elk hunt in northeastern Oregon and alternated them with another similar brand/material. To be honest, I was disappointed in the quality and found that they did not breathe as well as expected. Also, they tend to "slip" more than the other. During this hunt we experienced temperatures from 30 to 75F, with an average of 10-12 miles per day of hiking/climbing/running and chasing. Not the worst light hunting/hiking sock Ive ever worn, but not the best either.
Got these about 3 weeks ago and am loving them. I normally wear Thorlos or SmartWool, but didn't like the thickness of either. Haven't been on any long hikes but for day socks or chillin out they can't be beat!
