Black Diamond WindWeight Glove

Designed to function as a windproof fleece glove on its own or as a liner under a hardshell for more technical applications, the Black Diamond WindWeight Glove comes in handy in a variety of alpine situations. The windproof barrier keeps your hands warm while you tour up a ridge, and the snug fit and silicon-dotted finger tips give you the dexterity to peel your skins without taking your gloves off. The Pittards suede palm patch stands up to ski edges and ice-axe grips. Slide on one of Black Diamond’s hardshell mittens or gloves for when the storm rolls in for a bomber waterproof/breathable system.

Bottom Line: Solo or as a liner, the Black Diamond WindWeight Glove provides warmth and windproofing without sacrificing dexterity.

Great gloves!

Just used these on three peaks in Bolivia. They worked well for all conditions they are designed for. It is easy to grab and hold things with them, and they are warm and wind proof. When it got really cold I had to put on the mitts-they were a tad thick to use inside the mittens.

Good Product

Conditions: Humidity 52%, Wind N 17 MPH w/gusts to 21 MPH or so, Wind chill 7 deg. F., Temp 21 deg. F., Fair to partly cloudy.
Activity: brisk 45 minute to 1 hour walk.
Geography: N. Texas plains, nothing to block the wind except for the occasional house.
My hands measures 8 inches. In the men's large there was very little extra room to spare, pretty much a perfect fit. The seams inside the fingers of the gloves are large but livable (thus the 4 stars instead of 5). During my walk my hands stayed quite warm and the mild wind never got through these gloves. I have also used them in conditions where the wind was gusting to 30+ MPH with the temperature in the upper 30's to low 40's and was pleased with their performance as well. If the seams inside the gloves were just a bit more flattened out I would rate them 5 stars. In spite of this I would purchase this product again.

Warm enough for -20

When it gets in the negatives, it's nice to have a glove that still has some dexterity and grip, this glove does that nicely. When doing heavy aerobic activities, this glove gets too hot and doesn't wick sweat away that well. It works great for skiing, especially if you have a hardshell mitten for backup.
