Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork Trekking Pole

Whether you’re slogging up to some alpine granite walls or backpacking along the Sierra crest, the Black Diamond Trail Ergo Cork Trekking Pole gives you added support with a comfortable, natural cork grip. The grip’s ergonomic angle enhances natural motion on both the ups and downs, and the two FlickLock clasps give you three-section adjustability.

Bottom Line: Ergonomic support for long days on rugged trails.

Burly Corkers

By:
October 28, 2009

This are some rock solid poles. I used to have foam grip poles that were constantly slimy as soon as I broke a sweat. When I snapped one and had to find some replacements, I settled on the Ergo Corks. They are negligibly heavier than some aluminum pokes, particularly because of the foam chokers below the cork. I've choked up and used the foam once or twice on some steep grades, and thought they were pretty handy. Though slightly heavier than some, they are extremely well balanced, and the sturdy construction gives you a real peace of mind.

Pros: Rugged construction, super quick and easy FlickLocks, comfy/slime-free grips, plush straps, slightly tilted angle, awesome balance

Cons: Slightly heavy

cork handles are fine

By:
October 17, 2009

I have a pair of Leke poles with "cork" handles. They are ground material and formed together with glue. It is hard and rough. These black diamonds are true cork and are soft and comfortable. The wrist bands are soft and won;t cut into your skin like other cheap poles do.

My friend Mike #23 gear guru told me about these poles so when I was purchasing gear i checked them out and they really are the most comfortable poles I have ever used. They are extremely lightweight which is perfect for when you just want to carry them along. One of the best features to me is the wrist straps. Most other poles have the nylon straps that rub and grind into your skin all day on a climb but these are so comfortable I swear you will forget you even have the poles on your hands

Good Poles

By:

I'm really happy with these poles. The handles are nicely angled for easy gripping. The cork doesn't get slimy like plastic does. FlickLocks are a definite win (as always). The weight is good if you want to save 50% on CF poles. All in all, I like these a lot and don't think you can do better for the money (unless you can get a sweet deal on some CF poles).
