Black Diamond Syncline Trekking Pole

The two-section Black Diamond Syncline Trekking Poles go well with hikers and backpackers who don't often have their poles strapped to their packs. You don't need three section poles if you always use yours, so why spend the extra money? The Syncline Trekking Poles have FlickLock adjustments that work when they get icy, wet, muddy, or dirty. You just can't fool these things. Black Diamond's foam grips feel comfortable against your hands when you pass mile 15 on your hike. The contoured handles reduce wrist fatigue to keep you going strong at mile 25.

Bottom Line: The Black Diamond Syncline Trekking Poles—for hikers who hike with their poles instead of carrying them in their backpacks.

Write your question here... I am 64 and looking for poles to replace my wooden stick for hiking. Will do 225 miles in the north of England next summer, possibly double that in Spain. Need lightweight, strong poles to relieve pressure on knees and wrists. I wonder if these might fold up small enough to strap to pack occasionally, since I am only 5' 5". Other suggestions? The more expensive version sounds quite a lot heavier...

I've had these for about six months and have used them on several day hikes in various hills and mountains around the Bay Area. I am def. not a lightweight (260), so I appreciate the absolute solidity of the flicklock system. These things are just what the Dr. ordered for saving my knees -- after 20 years of soccer -- on the downhill segments.
