First off, the Super Slacker Rope Bag eliminates the coiling process forever. And as if that weren't enough, it also protects your rope from dirt and debris, and serves as a rope bucket on long climbs. The Super Slacker sports a zipper closure and padded shoulder straps for easy and comfortable transport to the next crag. Enough said.
Bottom Line: Super rope bag for the super slacker.
This bag has many good features like the drawstring closures and the loops on the inside. It can handle your rope and all of your carabiners and belay devices. It also unfolds to make a good size platform.
Don't understand all the positive reviews (they seem fishy to me). It's great if you're looking for an over-priced tarp to lay your rope on, but as a bag it's miserable. Buy the Metolius rope bag (no zippers, just a couple clasps and a drawstring) and you'll be happier.
These are really tough bags and have a lot of uses. Its nice for keeping your rope stored out of the light and dust. It's also nice to lay gear out on or sit on when things are a little wet.
Nice tarp and easily holds my 10.2 plus draws. The only flaw I have found is in the strap. If you are hiking any distance, the strap is not very comfortable and will work loose if you have a heavy load. You can tie of the loose ends of the strap, but this is a pain in the neck when you want to make adjustments. Overall its okay, but I was hoping for a better product from BD. The Metolius or newer pack-like bags are a better choice from what I have seen.
Simple design, works great. Drawstring closures allows stuffing of rope, zipper give quick access, nice adjustable shoulder strap, water resistant tarp build in, different color rope ties built in for easy set-up at the base of a climb. Nothing more than needed, nothing less, just right.
This is a great bag! It makes going from climb to climb a breeze. Its great for keeping your rope clean and off the ground. It takes no time to put the rope away. I have seen people spend over 20min tyring to get their rope into a stuff sack. The Superslacker takes less than 5min and you are on your way. The name says it all.
I got so sick of carrying 2 bags for climbing, I just started to put everything in here with the rope. Has plenty of space to throw in 2 pairs of shoes, two harness, all the quickdraws, biners, and whatever. I have had mine for about 7 years and no complaints, tears, problems. Very easy to wash out the dirt, and the zipper is very solid.
This rope bag is just plain good all around. It's so easy to wrap your rope up and carry it that it's unbelievable. Fully opened it covers plenty of ground -- certainly enough to manage gear and your rope. The shoulder strap is a bit long so it doesn't stay put on your body solidly, which is only an issue if you are climbing up with it loaded with stuff. Other than that, it's five stars all the way. I've experienced no issues with the zipper or the cinching straps. I only wish I had purchased one sooner.
My rope is nicer than your rope because I use my rope bag. The bag not only keeps my rope clean, but also tangle-free and ready to go on the next climb. Clever design makes using this bag easy and fun.
This bag is great and is designed to be carried over one shoulder like a messenger bag. It's dual tie-in points make it easy to identify the top and bottom of the bag so that you can flake the rope faster, and spend more time climbing. It's easy to pack-up too, and big enough to stuff draws, shoes, a harness, and over extras in the bag too. Nice piece for those climbers who want to get there and go!
I love this bag because its quick and easy, and my 70m rope has no problem fitting in it. The only downside is the shoulder strap will slip out of the clasps really easily if any weight is put in/on the bag, I had to tie the strap in knots to keep it from sliding out. other than that its a stellar bag
this is so easy to use that you won't even mind having rope duty after climbing that all day multipitch climb. The trap is nice and big and doubles as a windblocker if you are stuck belaying and are freezing cold. I'm such a gaper when it comes to rope management but this bag makes it easy. two differently colored tabs so you can decide on which one is for hte bottom of the rope and which is for the top.
This bad is a great bag. It is a weird long shape and would be nicer if it was a bit more compressed. It is comfortable to carry up the hill on your shoulder though. It opens up to a pretty big tarp. Bigger than my friends bags so less rope falls in the dirt. It is really easy to toss your rope in, put the ends in the loops, wrap it up and go!
This is great at keeping your rope clean and dry. In Utah we have a lot of sandy climbs, so it is important for safety and rope life that you take care of your rope. It also makes carrying a lot easier. Not to mention not having to coil. It took a little while to figure out how to efficiently wrap the rope up though.
