Throw it on the ground and pull.....it doesn't get much simpler than that...another great design by Black Diamond.

It is a piece on the cable that expands as it leaves the pole and you squeeze it to release the cable.

solid probe, simple and burly

By:
September 17, 2009

This is everything that I want in a probe...solid, simple to assemble, and light(ish). I originally wanted the carbon version, but ended up going with this to save some dollars. The weight penalty is not bad at all, and I am glad that went with the aluminum version as I feel that this will hold up better in the long run. The assembly mechanism is simple and works well, and most important is fast and solid. highly recommended

I haven't had to use it yet but it works well and is easy to put together and take apart.

Great probe, never had to use in a real situation (and hopefully I never do), but in drills and practice it is easy to use, and fast to set up. Great piece of gear...

Seems 2B nice

By:

Hopefully, I don't get any real world tests but the probe snaps out to full extension easily and it's very light weight - it seems perfectly suited for a round of find the body. Again, I hope I don't ever find out for sure.
