Nice Job

By:

It's really pretty simple: They're strong, light, last long enough and simply do their job. Not a single complaint thus far! I'll definitely go this route again for the next batch I need.

Great For Racking Cams

By:
July 12, 2009

I'm one of those people who prefer that my racking biners match my cams in color, so these were the natural choice to go with my C4s. I find that it makes it much easier to pick the size of cam I need off a crowded rack without fidgeting. These biners are light and small, and make for a good trad draw. Due to the size and notched gate, I would look elsewhere for sport draw biners, but these are great for trad. Plus, the price is right, especially if you need lots of biners (and who doesn't?).

I know the description says that there is a green biner, but

I know the description says that there is a green biner, but the photo looks like it has two grey. Can anyone confirm the green one?

It's kind of a sea green, and the photo has weird reflections. It's green though, don't you worry....they match the colors of the Camalots so they're easier to find. Same green.

Matching biners?!

By:
May 23, 2007

If your dirtbag partner laughs at your color coordinated neutrino/C4 rack don't let it bother you! When halfway through a crux you spot a perfect purple placement these babies will help you find that Camalot faster. I was really surprised at how much easier it was to grab the right color biner rather than look for the cam and then find the biner it was attached to. Especially in an offwidth crack when I couldn't easily rumage through my cams. The neutrino's small size also keeps the gear loops less crowded and the cams from hanging too low. If I already had lightweight biners for my cams then maybe they weren't worth the extra cash, but since I was buying biners for the Black Diamond C4's, I think this was money well spent.

Prefect for alpine draws

By:
April 1, 2009

I use these with various length runners as my extendo-draws for wandering up routes and as alpine draws. Lightweight, full-strength, and still big enough for most people to use with gloves on. Good stuff.

Black Diamond Neutrino Rackpack - Useful

By: Backcountry.com Employee
September 16, 2008

The Neutrino is a lightweight biner, which is useful for shedding off the ounces from a heavy trad or aid rack. With the rack pack, the matching colors for the corresponding C4s is surprisingly useful when making a quick grab for a cam. It wouldn't seem like a big deal, but on a large rack where it is difficult to see which biner is hooked to what cam, it helps to identify the size you need quickly. The gray and green colors are pretty subtly different then the standard neutrino, especially after some abuse, so they aren't as easy to pick out.

Yes a great Idea.

First of all the Neutrinos rule for racking cams and making superlight draws and runners. Definitely the best trad biner for the reasons I just mentioned. These make trimming the ounces off your rack easier (well not so easy on the wallet). It's handy to have them color coded with the cams too. If it's time to lose some weight this is a good way to do it.

This is a great idea. I was using my friends rack that had these coordinated with the matching Black Diamond cams I was surprised how much easier it made finding the size/color that I wanted in the mess of a rack I usually have. I wish they made more sets like these especially with a key lock carabineer. The gates seem a little smaller than I am used to.
