Black Diamond Light D Carabiner

Although some may think it's old school, the Black Diamond Light D Carabiner works in places where other carabiners just don't get the job done. Its small diameter nose fits through old bolt hangers too small for most 'biners, so you don't get to the end of a long slab runout only to find that you can't clip the single buttonhead. Its simple shape created a strong 24kN breaking strength. The Black Diamond Light D Carabiner also works great for racking stoppers and pins.

Bottom Line: There should be a couple Black Diamond Light D Carabiners on every trad-climber's rack.

The Classic

These biners are built to last. The design hasn't changed in over a decade for a good reason. light, smooth action and still looking good after years of use. These things don't have a key nose, so be aware of what your buying. That said, these things still find a place onto my rack for a reason. If you gotta leave gear on the wall or on the mountain, this is a great choice, cheap and reliable.
