Black Diamond Dynotron Anodized Carabiner - 2005

The Black Diamond Dynotron Anodized Carabiner is the brand's premier biner—it's designed to be stronger and larger than Black Diamond's Quicksilver2 and Positron. The Dynotron has one of the largest basket areas of any BD biner, allowing climbers to pile in the bulk (knots, slings, and other biners) while holding the gate open. This is the biner for anyone who is looking for a big, strong, workhorse carabiner. Good biner but worth the extra scrylla?

This is a very nice biner. But if you put it side by side with a Positron the basket area does not appear to be all that much larger. Also, the gate opening is only slightly bigger than the Positron. If you are looking for a specialized biner with an oversized basket then by all means grab this one. If you are looking just for a general workhorse biner, though, go with the Positron.
