Black Diamond Boa Backpack/Rope Bag - 2136 cu in - 2007
Black Diamond's new Boa Pack is a combo crag pack and rope bag; it's like a crag bag on mutagens. The Boa is large enough to hold a rack of gear for a full day of cragging, your rope, water, food, and whatever else you usually drag along with you. (No, it doesn't hold your belayer.) A removable tarp separates your rope from your gear and protects your cord from abrasive grit. Internal pockets help you organize your kit and keep the vitals, like your wallet and keys, separate from the pile. BD's unique design allows you to access the contents of the pack from a top-panel zipper or a duffel-loading zipper. Comfortable shoulder straps help you conserve your upper-body strength for the crux.
Bottom Line: This Boa will swallow all your cragging gear.
At first we thought, "what we really need is a piece of tarp and an old camping backpack." after trying this bag out, what we realized is how great it is to stuff everything into one bag and be ready to climb in two seconds. This bag holds our rope, two harnesses, all the gear, two sets of shoes, water bottles, etc. It's not huge, but fits everything well and has easy access through the front loading zipper. Also, the pocket in the top keeps our keys, wallets and wedding rings organized. Totally happy with this buy.
Greatest bag! i can fit EVERYTHING in it, harness, static rope, climb rope, first aid kit, lunch, water, i mean EVERYTHING i could need. Fits very comfortably and opens two ways (down the middle and a top lid. Would recommend to any climber! Enjoy and Happy Climbing :)
I'm supposed to be a minimalist but transitioning my crap from one pack to another several times a week just blows. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this and haven't regretted it one bit. It holds climbing gear for two people and is comfortable to carry. The removable tarp is nice and large.
This is a great bag - holds rope, harness, some pro, shoes, gloves, extras without being too stuffed. All equipment fits inside, not dangling outside. So much easier carrying a rope in this backpack. I'll probably buy another identical pack for "the boyfriend" so I'm not burro girl; he tried it and liked it too.
