Black Diamond made the Alpine Carbon Solo Trekking Pole for hikers and backpackers who want a little extra balance on nasty trails. The three-piece construction lets you collapse this pole and stash it in your pack when the going is easy. Black Diamond added a cork-and-rubber grip to the equation for more comfort when you break out this single pole on a steep, rocky section. Carbon fiber construction keeps things light, and double FlickLock closures ensure easy and dependable use year after year.

Use: Hiking back country.

For the coin, you basically can't go any better. Stashes away super compact, light as, and fully rigid even at max extension.

Grips are ergo designed and super comfy as well as being rubber construction and weighted. When I lose these or my friends forget to give them back, I'll be getting these again.
