Big Agnes Yampa Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down

The rectangular-shaped Big Agnes Yampa 40-Degree Down Sleeping Bag has a large 70in (regular size) shoulder girth, ideal for summer camping when you don't want a tight mummy bag. The Yampa sleeping bag is stuffed with 650-fill goose down and weighs less than two pounds (regular) thanks to its ingenious design: Only the top and sides of the bag are insulated. Under you, where insulation would be compressed and useless, is a rectangular sleeping-pad sleeve that holds your pad in place, so you'll never roll off it while you're sleeping. *Compatible with 20in-wide Big Agnes rectangular pads.

Bottom Line: This summer, make sleeping outdoors more comfortable with the Big Agnes Yampa Down Sleeping Bag.

Good quality

I was recommended this sleeping bag by the online salesperson and was very happy with. This is essentially a half-bag that requires you to slide your Thermarest into the bottom sleeve so no down is wasted in keeping you warm. This helps save space and weight when packed. More importantly you bag won't rotate or twist when you turn at night. Sliding the Thermarest intothe sleeve was very quick and easy.

It is sufficiently spacious and comfortable for summer camping and I found the temperature very easy to adjust by zipping and unzipping the bag. For colder conditions, I plan to use it as an outer bag with another bag inside.

I was also impressed by the quality of the finishing and the loftiness of the down. Overall, an excellent bag

Comfy and warm

I always worry because I sleep cold - but this bag was down right toasty into the lower 40's with my insulated air core mattress tucked inside. The extra room lets me move around a little with out getting cold or losing track of my pad. Wonderful system. Can't wait to try the two zipped together - being able to zip the long to the regular is a great bonus for couples...

Packs small, Sleeps smallish

We bought a matched set of Yampas for our summer moto camping. Space is at a premium so we wanted to make sure the bags packed super small and sure enough the Yampas do. We found them to be generally nice and comfortable. The only downside was that despite using the same square pad as my lost ranger, the Yampa has a noticably narrower body. This isn't a huge deal but if you're a side sleeper it means you end up with a bit less space than is strictly comfortable. Overall a solid bag with the usual nice Big Agnes features, but not Amazing. It IS cheap, light, and small, which is a nice combo.

great bag

I bought two of these, one left zip the other right zip and use it for me and my wife. This system works great. I love having the bad locked below me. There is plenty of space in each bag for one person and when we zip the two together there is enough room for our four year old to climb in with us... not sure if that is a good thing since it defeats part of the purpose of having a double bag.

Beautifully designed with top flight craftsmanship. Bought it for my wife to zip together with my Long Yampa. It is very warm and very light and very compressible.
