Beal Flyer II 10.2mm Dry Cover Rope - 2009

With a moderate diameter and a protective Dry Cover sheath coating, the Beal Flyer II 10.2mm Rope is ideal for any roped climbing application. The sheath coating helps stop water absorption and freezing on ice or alpine climbs and enhances durability for extended use. The relatively low weight and progressive diameter helps bridge the gap between traditional fat ropes and newer skinny ropes.

Bottom Line: Tie in for any of your projects with the Flyer.

I do canyoneering trips and just occasionally climb. Would it be ok to use a dynamic rope in my situation? I know the static rope is better for rappelling but I'd like to only buy one rope if possible.

When you are climbing are you just top roping or leading too? If you are just top roping then go for a static rope, but then you can not EVER lead on it! Otherwise get a dynamic rope, just remember that canyoneering is REALLY hard on ropes!

Durable and light

I've yet to find a better weight per meter to fall ratio than the Beal Flyer II. I've been using this rope for 3-4 years now and it still remains tops in my book. At 64g/m and certified to 10 falls, I can't find anything better. The dry coating seems to attract dirt and grime, but otherwise it's great.
