Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Hoody - Women's
Layering is a science and the Backcountry.com Women’s Prime Power Stretch Hoody wants to give you Nature’s test notes. Power Stretch fabric holds warmth close on those chilly days and breathes like a champ when things warm up. The Prime Power Stretch Top’s female-flattering athletic fit layers like an onion and the hood offers shelter when the chill sets in. Stash your keys, lip balm, and other small items in the hand pockets for safe keeping during your tour, hike, or crag session.
Just bought both colors for my wife. She loves the colors and the fit. They fit very true to size. The material is extremely soft both inside and out. Hopefully I got a few browny points for the surprise :)
My wife has been needing a casual outerlayer and/or about-the-house hoodie and would have settled for a cotton "whatever", but loved her Backcountry.com Siphon Primaloft jacket so much this seemed a far better idea. I advised her about the no hood sinch and no zippers on the pockets--which didn't concern her. Now one week into ownership I think she's worn it every day! The Polartec Power Stretch isn't high loft by any means, but she says the inside is soft and comfy and makes it a good layering piece as well. She has worn it around the house over a normal shirt, and over merino/under her shell for walks in upper 30's lower 40's weather. She's about 5'6" and just under 120 (hope that doesn't get me in trouble or something) and the Small fits perfectly. The hand pockets fit for her when her hands are balled up, though the horizontal cut of the pockets makes stashing anything them not the best idea. We can't comment on the green, but she really likes the purple. Full price wouldn't out of line, but if it's still a % off snatch it up! (Ladies already know how to bargain hunt, but guys, just take a guess at her size and reap the surprise gift rewards!)
My husband got this hoody for me thinking it would be a great base layer (like it says), which it is. But... the pockets and the hood are totally pointless. Nothing stays in the pockets and the hood doesn't stay on. It isn't quite as warm as I was looking for. We are backcountry skiers so we hike a lot. It does the job and it's warm enough if you are working hard, but I use it more often as a casual fleece. It's nice looking. If the pockets had zippers and the hood a drawstring, it would be perfect.
Compared to other Powerstretch hooodies, this jacket better fitting and all around. The first super soft hoody I have been going to for base layer, layers or alone. I bought the pants (excellent layer under snowboarding pants) too and they are great as well.
I bought this for my wife and it has quickly become her go-to layer for every day wear. Perfect for summer camping, and a great layer for running around town in the winter. Size wise, the small fits her with a little extra room, she is 5'3" 105 lbs. The green color is cool too. The SAC price for it was unbeatable!
I just bought this hoodie, and I am really loving it. Its very well-made, and the inside lining makes it warm and soft. The hood is a good fit, and it works well if its windy and you're a little chilly. I like that its stretchy, and its a flattering fit. I am 5'9 and the medium fits perfectly. The pockets are pretty pointless but look cute nonetheless. Good buy!
The hoodie is warm, comfortable, and cute BUT.... it is completely impractical for anything more than lounging. The pockets are ridiculously shallow. I can barely fit my fingers in all the way. I have also found that this particular hoodie stretches out immensely, so if you ever do put anything in the pockets, the hoodie will lose its shape. I've found this piece is best used for layering.
i bought the stretch pants first. they were so amazing and so soft that i wanted the jacket. i got the leapfrog and while i'm not a big fan of the color, it is just as amazing and comfortable as the pants. The sizing is dead on and it fits me great with extra room to move around a bit so its not restricting.
Absolutely love my hoody. I get lots of compliments on the green color. Very soft fleece inside, nice smooth finish on the outside. Fits well and is perfect for wearing around town, to work, etc.
This is however, not the best technical fleece if you ask me. The material would make a great base layer, but I don't want a hood on my base layer (don't find the hunch back look attractive...). Also, the pockets are basically useless. Nothing stays in them and they are to small for your hands.
But since I didn't buy this as a technical piece I'm in love with it as my new everyday jacket.
I bought this hoodie for a camping trip, and now I wear it all the time - lounging at home, walking the dog, going to yoga, running errands. It is very soft material and fits well. My only complaint is that the zipper is very sharp at the top and sometimes scrapes my chin.
I just picked this baby up and it's sooo comfortable! The Power Stretch Fleece makes it very easy to move in and also very warm. My only thing against it is the front Pockets are POINTLESS! I put my phone in it, turned around, and it fell right out! My hands even barely fit in them to warm them up if I have to! It fits very true to size though. I'm 5'6 and 150lbs and a Medium fits me perfectly.
This shirt fits true to size according to my girlfriend! She has been so excited since we got it that she cant wait for the snow! Of course she does not ski, hike in the winter, or even play in the snow, so its going to be her new fall lounge jacket!
This is an awesome hoodie. I got the green color (which I love.) It's an awesome, soft material and it has become my go-to hoodie. The only drawback of this sweatshirt (which others have already mentioned) is the useless pockets. Otherwise, I love it!
This hoodie is light weight and compacts pretty decently. Perfect for a run on a cool day. It is pretty warm and wind resistant and feels true to size. As mentioned it is not form fitting, but looks fine as casual wear. It is my favorite packable layer for any activity.
Thought this would be a great hoody based on previous reviews, but boy was I wrong! Other than the super soft material, this hoody has nothing going for it. It was truly laughable when I tried the hoody on - I looked like a sack of potatoes in this thing. Maybe it doesn't help that my waist is rather small and didn't fill out the middle section, but this hoody was just not flattering at all. Definitely going back, not even worth the stellar price I paid for it on SAC.
The Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Hoody is a great hoody for all around. It is extremely soft on the inside and very comfortable. I run in it a lot in the winter as it keeps me warm yet is still breathable so I don't feel like I have to peel off any layers as I get going.
I like this hoody for its forgiving stretch and fit. I'm a medium and the fit is quite flattering....something you don't usually hear about hoodies. The Leap Frog color is a nice lime/grass green.
I got this to go with the Backcountry down sweater for my girlfriend for Christmas (it was a BC holiday) and she wears it all the time. THe pockets are less than super functional, but the hoodie keeps her warm, which is no small feat. It is nicely cut, and she looks great in it!
