If you had a fleece-lined, wool beanie that was hand knit by natives in Nepal, you’d probably call it the Backcountry.com Nepal Beanie, too. Whether you’re killing cold ones on the porch or charging the deeps, the Nepal Beanie wants to tag along. Hand-knit wool naturally fends off light moisture and wind, while the fleece lining warms your ears and keeps the sweat out of your eyes when you’re going hard.
Bottom Line: The Nepalese really know how to keep a head warm.
Just picked up a couple of these hats and I'm really happy with them. The wool feels like pretty high quality but standard wool. The inside has great micro-fleece. My skin is really sensitive to wool so I'm really psyched about the fleece inside. They fit very well.... I think I have an average sized noggen. They're great colors.... even match my Mr. Rogers Kuhl sweater. All in all I'm really, really happy with them and look forward to some great use out of them. Just as a side note, I think it's really cool that Backcountry.com has them made in Nepal! Thanks for another great product!
Wouldn't recommend machine-washing these, but you can certainly hand-wash them per the care instructions: "Hand-wash, line-dry or wear-dry" No dry-cleaning required.
Granted, I've got a big noggin, but the Beanie cap wasn't what I thought it was going to be. It was super tight on my head. I like that it was hand made, but who's gonna wear a cap that gives them a headache. Not all heads are the same size. Make more sizes available.
I have the brown one & I love it. It's very warm, good ear coverage for a beanie-style hat. The fleece cuts down on the wool itch & adds warmth. There is a small lip of wool around the rim of the hat, right where one's eyebrows are. If you are especially sensitive to wool this may bother you, I've had no real discomfort so far. It's a quality hat, well-made (the Nepalese know their wool & cold), & you get to represent Backcountry.com, win-win.
I've got a mondo-noggin', and this still fits great. It's super warm and looks saweeeeet too. The main color does have more orange and less drk brown than the picture would indicate.
It's made in Napal...this is why I got it. It fits great and will keep your grape warm unless..If you're sweating and its windy the top of your head will get a chill but your ears will stay warm. There is a stip of fleece around the hat which covers the ear level of the head. The design of this cover is great and is best used if you're at a winter concert or under a hood.
if you're going outside in the winter, this hat will keep you warm, and the wool will not itch, because there's a fleece liner (how thoughtful!). It's also quite stylish.
This hat is by far my favorite. I've owned a couple TNF beanies and they don't come close to this one in warmth and comfort. Blocks the wind really well and the fleece keeps your head toasty. The wool also lets your head breathe while keeping you warm when you're doing whatever your doing
This hat has it all. It fits comfortably and completely covers the ears for those cold days. Very warm and stylish. Couldn't ask for anything more. I recommend it without hesitation.
Used when the windchill was -30F and was still warm. I will admit that it was a little itchy at first around the edges.I have gotten used to it now and don't even notice it anymore.
The hat is nice quality however I found even with the fleece liner, it is quite itchy around the face. The wool is exposed at the base of the hat and it is a bit uncomfortable. This wool is not as soft as a smartwool product. Im contemplating on returning the hat or doing some mcgiver work on it to make it more comfortable.
