Backcountry.com Mongolia Ear Flap Beanie - 2007

You may not be able to afford, let alone handle, a high-alpine trip in the Asian highlands, but at least the Backcountry.com Mongolia Ear Flap Beanie will help explore the potential of your vast and wishful imagination. The Mongolia Ear Flap Beanie warms your lid with its soft fleece liner, while the long, braided tassels act as tie-downs when the wind picks up. We added a small Goat logo on the Mongolia's ear flap because we know you like to show your love without shouting.

Bottom Line: The Backcoutry.com Mongolia Ear Flap Beanie makes a great spicy beef dish.

Awesome Hat

By:
December 10, 2007

This hat is extremely warm and comfortable no matter what conditions it's been in, and is always good for a few funny looks and laughs from your friends. The braids can get slightly in the way if left to dangle, but tying them off will quickly remedy that and keep your chin warm. Bald men beware: he interior is only partially lined with fleece so that hat won't itch. Also, it's a little more high maintenance than your last girlfriend: cold hand wash only + lay flat to dry.

Excellent warmth overall, especially my ears!

Have had trouble for years keeping the average knit hat down over my ears...this beanie has been up to the task, and the fleece over the ears and back of neck is very cozy...I love this beanie, and glad that, on the basis of others' comments, I bought 2 at this great price! Love it!

How thick is this exactly? On the more thin-side or thicker side

How thick is this exactly? On the more thin-side or thicker side like some of The North Face beanies?

It's a pretty thick knit. Very cosy, better for casual wear or lower output activities. If you're looking for something light, check out the fleece beanie. I wear it on backcountry ascents, works great.

Super Warm

This hat is pretty sweet. It is super super warm though - great for freezing temps, but not great for touring / not too cold weather. The fleece lining prevents it from being too itchy. I wore it all the time through January and February until my dogs chewed the top part off.
