Awesome socks, can't beat the sale price either!

I bought these on sale so it made it all the better. They're my first pair of hiking socks and the first time I wore them was a 15 mile/7.5 hour hike up Mt. Marcy (the tallest peak in NY). They were awesome and I am sooooo glad I used them. I think my feet would have been completely trashed had it not been for great, wool, hiking socks to go along with my hiking shoes. Not one blister, sore spot, or anything. I've attached a picture of a second pair I wore two days later hiking Mt. Mansfield in VT. This was on the summit!

Great Socks

These are great socks for the money. Not too thick and very comfortable. I use then with an inner sock and even with wet feet for two days on my last trip, no blisters. Here is the link to the inner socks. They work great together. http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/Backcountry-SynthTrail-Crew-Sock-3-Pack/BCC0218M.html

Write your question here...I am currently planning a trip to Kluane National preserve in the southwest corner of the Yukon. The trip involves a lot of cross country in open gravely country. Would these do OK, or should I go for a heavier sock?

Depends on your feet in terms of temperature. Are you going during the colder season? If so you may want to go warmer. If your feet are use to a little thinner sock or a medium thick sock these will be fine. They're fantastic socks! I use them for about everything. They never stink and they don't rub my feet funny either.
Hope that helps.

One for all

These are great socks. I love merino wool, it's awesome for any occasion. Hot? It'll keep your feet cool and wick moisture. Cold? It'll keep your feet toasty, and won't get wet. (wet = cold) I wear these for everything from lounging around the house (they go great with hot cocoa), to playing basketball in the summer (they'll add a few mm to your vertical). Oh, and they work for hiking too.
