Lace up Burton's skate-inspired Men's Hail Snowboard Boot, storm the terrain park, and watch everyone run for cover. The Hail's articulating cuff gives this medium-flex freestyle boot two distinct flex zones for forward mobility, increased response, and better heel hold. The super-light outsole features integrated air cushioning to absorb tremendous amounts of shock on rail hits and big drops without sacrificing board feel. The Hail's heat-moldable EVA footbed supports and cushions your foot, while ESS shanks increase response. The new Hail Snowboard Boots feature special rubber soles that harden to form traction-enhancing spikes in freezing temps. *Available for US Shipment Only. - Fall 2008.
Bottom Line: Burton's Hail Snowboard Boots give you a natural feel and tons of slop-free agility in the park.
I love these boots. Ive had three different burton boots and this rocks!!! Very comfortable, fits right to size, the heel cuffs works well, and keeps my feet warm all day with thin socks. I would recommend this to a friend no problem.
Great boot for groomers, park riders, and riders in between. J-bars give great heel hold and the overall construction is terrific. Despite it's somewhat bulky look, it isn't too heavy. It's incredibly comfortable, one of the best boots out there. I highly recommend it whether you're a seasoned snowboarder or somebody just wanting a quality boot for your first time- this boot will last you for years to come.
I was wondering about the air shocks in the heel. Are they rugged enough to handle day after day of relentless beatintgs.I've had some bad experiences with boots like this. Other than that one downfall, I'm impressed.
chris- i weigh about 200 pounds, and have taken huge hits with these boots and have encountered no issues with the air in the heels. they're not like the first pair of nike airs where the bladder was bulging out of the sides of the shoe. you don't even notice it, until you notice that your landing didn't hurt as bad as you were expecting!
These are the best boots by far they are great for park but also do very well in the deep stuff. I am a Jersey rider so most of my riding is in the park conditions, but these boots did hold up very well when I went out to Whistler and hit up the Gnar chutes
Don't listen to anyone who doesn't have their name in here. These boots are not freeride boots, but are actually park boots. don't believe me, ask Burton. These are probably the most comfortable pair of boots i think i have ever worn from day one. Give you the flex you need in the park but are stiff where you need it. Excellent boots for wherever you ride
Dont listen to any of these random people who dont even have names. These boots are excellent park boots. If someone tells you they are freeride boots they are full of themselves and probably never had stiff freeride boots. These are extremely soft and comfortable from day one. Breaking them in helps but they made a big difference from the first time i strapped them in. Excellent pair of boots.
I got the 2008 model of the Hail. Now Burton may have made some improvement to the boots fpr 2009, but for the shape of my feet they didn't fit that well. I tried them twice on the mountain and while they did there job I think they could have been better. I am sure for most people these boots fit great, but for me they started to make my feet hurt. I also got some heel lift and If I tightened them up they started to really pinch the lower part of my feet. They may have been a half size too small. I have no beef with the construction of the boot. I am just writing this review to let people know that this is a boot that you may have to buy a half size up and that the shape may not fit some peoples feet that well. Other than that, pretty cool boot.
but after trying on some rides that were comfy but too flexible, then a few different pairs of 32 boots that fit awful, I tried on the hails and they were a perfect fit. felt snug in all the right places and were overall a perfect fit. Fairly stiff but with good flex points. A little bit more expensive than I would like but you can feel the difference over cheaper boots.
These boots are awesome! Super comfy, super flex, don't need to break them in and can handle any terrain. I have the white/red/gold ones and they look sick too.
