Burton Freestyle Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton used a skateboard-shoe approach to design the Men's Freestyle Snowboard Boots—lightweight, flexible, sensitive, and ready to take on any feature in the terrain park. The liners include quick-fit lacing harnesses to keep your heel locked in place and ensure precise control. Rubber ice-spike soles give the Burton Freestyle Snowboard Boots plenty of traction on those slippery steps, so you don't take a fall while sessioning that newly discovered rail by your house. A thin midsole profile gives you tons of sensitivity on rails, kickers, and any other feature you want to turn into a playground. - Fall 2008.

Bottom Line: Snowboard like you skateboard.

Great boots

Super comfortable. Very warm. Quite a bit of flex...but the didn't need to be broken in. Got the basketball style. They do look exactly like a basketball...pretty orange compared to the picture. I'd definitely buy them again.

As they are that soft, is there enough protection from them?

are you going into battle?...can you be more specific in the future plz...but these will be fine if you fall on a rail or something and are woried about banging your shins...but they dont have enough padding for huge drops, but i doubt you'd be doing that in the these boots, but if your worried about that kind of protection the look elsewhere...other than that, they are snowboard boots, and not low profile ones either so anything covered by the boot is going to be protected, like if ur worried about people steppin on ur feet or gettin ur litte toes crushed...you should still rephrase ur questions tho

OK Boots

By:

These are some pretty decent snowboard boots. No hot spots (for me), but they're very wide in the heel, even though the boot is the right size length-wise. If your having heel lift problems w/ these boots, remove the liner and get some foam pads to tuck under the tightening bands that go around the heel area until you have a real heel cup. After doing this, the fit is greatly improved. Boots are very warm so don't size too big, you won't need anything more than a thin smartwool sock down to -5 degrees.

I haven't tried this exact pair, but the Burton Hails I have run true to size, so I would assume all Burton boots would.
