Black Diamond Anarchist with Avalung Winter Pack - 1953-2563 cu in

The durable, top-loading Black Diamond Anarchist Avalung Winter Pack is built for guides, ski professionals, and multi-day trips in the backcountry. Whether you’re paying the rent on the mountain or touring between huts, the Anarchist’s 40-liter capacity gives you plenty of room for avy gear, tools, and overnight essentials.

  • In the event of an avalanche, the integrated Avalung pulls oxygen from surrounding snowpack and expels C02 through bottom exhaust port
  • Dedicated avy tool pocket keeps your probe and shovel ready for action
  • Diagonal and A-frame carry options securely attaches your planks on the bootpack
  • Tuck-away helmet sling holds on to your brain bucket on the skin up
  • Insulated hydration sleeve keeps your water from turning into a brick

Bottom Line: A large-capacity pack for working guides or backcountry overnighters.

Super Versitile

One of the best fitting packs I have ever worn. As a somewhat taller individual, 6'2", I have always had problems with my ski packs sliding up on me. The hip belt would end up around my ribs by the end of the run or even worse and annoyingly on the way up. Great for several days going the lightweight route or as a day pack for longer approaches this does it all. I even brought this one up Kilimanjaro! (Without the avalung of course)

Indeed part of the pack, check out the exhaust vent grill on the bottom of the right hand side of the pack. The bright side is that you never forget your avalung!

Pack of choice for overnight ski tours looking for rad terrain. Big enough to carry bivy kit, stove, food, gear. Carries well. Built in lung is great to have, especially in remote areas.

This pack coupled with a 3L hydration bladder is the perfect setup.

Hello, Couple questions. I have a daypack that is a bit too small

Hello,
Couple questions.
I have a daypack that is a bit too small to comfortably tour with. I am looking for a pack that can comfortably carry large skins, down, food, h20, avy gear. I was looking at the BD revelation but it has horrible reviews. Is the anarchist the pack I am looking for? Also, is the internal alluminum frame bothersome? Will it be too big for a single day tour? I know...lots of questions.

My buddy just got one of these and this pack is sweet! You can fit a ton of gear in it very comfortably, yet it compresses down nicely when it isn't packed so full. Great for single day tours when you need lots of food and water!

best BD bag

I bought this in the fall to replace my old covert pack with avalung. The top load design is far better for gear capacity and simplicity, and the back zip panel is the best thing since sliced bread. The seperate front section for probe and shovel does a great job of organizing, and has enough room to throw my skins between laps (and keep whatever is in the main compartment dry). The zippers have been updated, so you no longer zip around the avalung mouthpiece, which was a huge PITA. Overall, an excellent multiday/long tour pack

Does this pack have a vertical snowboard carry option? I'm

Does this pack have a vertical snowboard carry option? I'm assuming it does just by looking at the straps and because the none avalung model (might be older two) has almost the exact same strap configuration and it says it has snowboard carry capabilities.

I don't believe it does. It could easily be fitted with a couple of small nylon straps with fastex buckles to create one.
