This form-fitting gaiter combines simplicity with a wide range of adjustability. Features include a sturdy Velcro-like closure system that can be easily used while wearing gloves or mittens. Two-layer Gore-Tex® uppers and Ballistics bottoms add breathability and durability. Fits a wide range of mountaineering, hiking and non-buckle tele boots.
Bottom Line: Hit the mountains with the Black Diamond GTX FrontPoint Gaiter.
Another fine Black Diamond product. 100% effective at keeping snow out, even in very deep conditions and over long periods. They run small, so make sure you buy them large enough. I'm 6'1" with a size 11 foot, and it's tight getting a XL to fit over pants and snow boots.
All in all this gaiter worked great. Very think and strong, kept all kinds of stuff out of my boots in the South Island of New Zealand. I was unlucky though, putting them on before a hike and as I went to tighten the top elastic it pull straight out of the gaiter!!
Once I got them home with the help of my mum I was able to re-attach the elastic with a little stitch work! Was just a fault from the factory which must happen 1 in every 100
these are the best gaiters ever... yeah.. they say they're ice-climbing specific, but they really are the best all around. Their sleek fit is better at keeping debris out of boot than any other gaiter they just have the best design and that's all there is to it!
These gaiters are great. I live on Long Island and we just got 15 inches of snow, and I shoveled drifts that were four feet high and didnt get my pants wet. I cant wait to use these at Mt Washington next month.
Easy on and off. Great fit. NOTHING got past them. Have owned two other pairs and no comparison. Sizing is for standard boots so if you're wearing heavy trekkers, go one size up.
I purchased these gaiters mainly for hiking and trail care outings. I have only used them on three outings so far, but I have found them to be 'bullet proof'. Nothing has made it through them yet. I especially like the low bulk and easy on-and-off.
While trekking Gorillas in the mist, it did it all it was supposed to - protect my boots and socks from getting wet and muddy! Simple and good product.
I found that these gaiters didn't sit low enough on lower-cut boots to keep the snow out, but they are much tighter fitting and more tapered than other gaiters on the market. They're great.
