Big Agnes Storm King Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Down - 2007

Ideal for winter camping, the Big Agnes Storm King 0-Degree Down Sleeping Bag weighs only 3lb 3oz (regular size) and has a roomy rectangular shape which is extremely comfortable to sleep in. To make the Storm King so lightweight, Big Agnes filled the top baffles of the bag with 650-fill down insulation and took out insulation on the underside of the bag, which would get compressed as you sleep. Instead, on the bottom of the Storm King is a rectangular sleeping-pad sleeve that holds your insulating pad securely in place as you sleep. When you're winter camping, comfort and a light load are two of the most important commodities. The Storm King sleeping bag provides both. *Compatible with 20in-wide rectangular pads.

Bottom Line: Save weight and stay warm in the winter with the Big Agnes Storm King Down Sleeping Bag.

Great, with limitations

This is a nice bag but in my opinion is best suited to car-based or warmer weather camping. The problem is that with no insulation underneath you, if the (inflatable) mattress punctures on a climbing trip at high altitude you are in big trouble. Also, when the mat is inflated the bag is extremely slippery and i slid down the bag the whole night. I put down some duct tape which helped. Also the bag was quickly punctured and was leaking feathers, the hole was my fault I guess but I wish bag makers would make the outer liner a little tougher. Phenomenal bag for car camping though and it is very warm.

Everything I expected

This is a very well made bag. I really can't believe how comfortable (and warm) it is. I have never used a "sleep system" of bag and pad before (besides large air matresses while car-camping), and I love the weight savings you get from the "bottomless" bag. They are right about everything; you carry less weight, get more comfort, and get more warmth with their system. I highly recommend the Big Agnes bags!

This bag is really nice, light, compactable, and well made. It's very comfortable and easy to get to the zips and pulls. it's actually quite roomy too, considering how warm it stays in there! I love their bag/pad system!

Sweet bag

Very comfortable. Stuffs well into bottom of pack. I love the pad being part of the bag. It is liking sleeping in a bed - no more twisted bag. Would highly recommend

You can't use this bag when it's below 20F so what's the point?

way comfy

Its so nice to have the slip in the back to put in the sleeping pad. HUGE difference! Great comfy bag. I won't say how cold it got, some people think they can take it down to like -20 or some crazy degree. I will say it kept me super warm while others were cold. Down is the way to go and big agnes knows bags. Not a confining fit either, very roomy but warm.

Handy bag

I like being able to slide a sleeping pad right in part of the bag, no more sliding off the pad. I still wonder how its going to work in cold weather with no fill on the bottom. But for now i like the bag.
