Atomic Sugar Daddy Alpine Ski - 2007

Take the Atomic Sugar Daddy Alpine Ski out the day of the big storm, the day after that, and everyday after that until the ice starts to shine. This all-terrain ski goes wherever you want, as fast as you want. The Sugar Daddy doesn't mess around when it comes to ripping big-mountain lines and floating through fresh. It's worked hard to get where it's at, and it's generous enough to share its riches with you. The Densolite core keeps the Sugar Daddy lighter than comparable wood core skis. With a 28m turn radius and its trosionally rigid Beta 4 construction, the Sugar Daddy cruises at eye-watering speeds without getting twitchy. The Beta 4 construction works to transmit your energy to the outside edge while simultaneously damping vibration. But don't be fooled by the new-school length, the Sugar Daddy is a big-ass ski—99mm under the boot—enough width to float you through the bottomless pow of Alta or Alaska.

Bottom Line: A little love and a lot of snow go a long way with the Atomic Sugar Daddy.

Probably the best ski on the market

By:

In my view these skis unite all the components that I demand in backcountry skiing- the one and only all mountain ski:
1.Can hold an edge in all conditions. I have trusted them in icy steep clouirs with my life!
2.Very light weight for the performance and size. Great for touring- breaking tracks, traversing and skinning up steeps.
3.Great in powder! Heli skiing Ak style ahhh Yeah! Rip it baby. They love to float and fly.

overall a great reliable ski but more so for the demanding athlete who has the muscles to krank these babies to make 'em carve even on groomers, steeps and ice....
after all they are not called daddies for nothing. :) I love 'em and sometimes I wish they had more of a side cut but I realize also that would affect their reliability.

Perfect All Mountain/Back Country/Powder ski

By:
December 18, 2007

So I had this problem of always trying to decide which skis to take out. Do I take the long, and heavy big powder boards? Do I use the shorter, lighter pocket rockets... etc. Anyone else have this problem? I demoed a lot of skis looking for the perfect do it all ski and the sugar daddy was it! Perfect ski for all mountain skiing... I do 50% back country powder skiing and 50% in bounds powder, steeps, groomers, etc. This ski did it all. Its light as a feather but strong like a big mountain free ride ski. I am 5'11" 175 and ended up going with the 183cm... perfect size and length. There were some other skis that were good, but Atomic had the perfect size for me with the 183. If you are looking for an all mountain/powder/steeps/tree ski... this is it. Perfect side cuts also at 126-99-117. Not ridiculously wide, but wide enough work it all.

Light Ski

By:
November 9, 2007

I set up this ski to put AT binding on it and be my pow ski. It outperforms any ski that I have ever been on pow and surprisingly the crud, I mean real bad crud. For those that like to GS down steep mountains this ski will really open up the mountain in bad snow days. Fun Fun Fun. I disagree a little with the other postings. I feel they are poor on the packed. I suggest getting a different ski if you are skiing groomers or any type of ice. The waist is just too wide to get things done properly. The lights big ski! Purchase something a little shorter as well. You don't need too long of a ski, these babies float well!!! and GS and slam through crud extremely well.
