style, quality, durability, functionality. The Armada Galactic jacket is on point. If you are tired of the same old colors and styles from all the other technical brands out there, try this one. You no longer have to sacrifice quality and technicality for style as this jacket has it all!

How in the world would someone stay warm in this paper thin shell?

How in the world would someone stay warm in this paper thin shell? Dont get me wrong the tec part is awsome, I just dont see myself being very happy in anything but nice weather for both the jacket and plasma pant . If anyone has had both let me know the trick or I think I will just have to go big and bulky... Thanks

I second that kretzky...this is a sick shell, buts thats it. Get some layers under it and its killer. If your hiking for turns "big and bulky" just wont work.

Generous cut fits great and dosnt get in the way. Im not sure if I like the thumb hole wrist sleeve end thingies yet...Ill have to get into some deep snow before the verdict is out. Looks to be very well constructed...

Layering is the key. If you're willing to drop $490 on a jacket, spend some of that on a wool base layer, and either a fleece or down sweater as a mid layer (down will be warmer). Top it all off with the Galactic. You can add or remove layers as the weather changes.

This system has worked for me (in different, but equally thin hard shell) all the way down to -10F and "shut down the lifts" windy

Galactic jacket in action

I have tried on many technical shells in my time. If you are looking for style, quality, and durability, this jacket takes the cake. The galactic pattern is one of the coolest, eye catching patterns I have seen. Most importantly, whether it's snowing or raining, you can count on the eVENT membrane to keep you bone dry.

Exactly. Layering is key with this jacket. It blocks wind extremely well, so if you have on the right layer/s underneath you will always stay warm.

Like how many? seems if i do too many there will be no venting and a waste of money on some sick tech. Can i get away with a wool 260 icebreaker top and bottom with jacket shell and pant? Just the two together...

Just trying to size myself out to get this jacket. I am wondering what size jacket you have and your height? I am 5'9" and was thinking a large, would that be too big?

for layering, it depends on the temperature really. Sometimes I would just wear a t-shirt underneath and be fine. On the coldest days I would wear a base layer and a fleece. Its only a waste of money if you DON't wear the right stuff underneath. That means wearing breathable layers, NO COTTON. Choose your layers wisely.

Klye, Im 6' and I wear the XXL. I don't think a large would be too big for you. It depends on if you like a baggy or tight fit.

This Jacket is Awesome

It's just like a high end ArcTeryx or North Face, but it looks way cooler. I am a gear snob and was hesitant to go with Armada, but the construction looked as good as anything on the market and the print sold me. I already wore it in the rain and will get it out on the slopes as soon as I can hike for some freshies!

Arcteryx is a great company with solid gore-tex gear no doubt. I see armada, and anyone else using eVent for that matter, starting to give them a run for their money. I have worn goretex for years and bottom line - eVent is a superior material. You cannot get around that. Armada is speaking to a completely different style, and if you get the gear from BC you get the unlimited warranty anyways.

NO where near Arc'Teryx quality & guarantee... although the mpressive use of eVent fabric makes there top line of outwear worth a try this season!
