Arc'teryx Tau Beanie - 2006

Arc'teryx made their Tau Beanie with Polartec Wind Pro fleece to keep your noggin toasty when the wind is howling. Whether you're blasting down a ski hill or just trying to stand upright in a mountain storm, this Arc'teryx beanie ensures your head won't feel a thing.

Bottom Line: Stand up to the wind with the Arc'teryx Tao Beanie.

the way to go

This hat is a great buy, it starts out a tad snug, but after wearing it a few times it loosens up a bit to fit your head just right. It is also more wind resistant than normal beanies so i would recommend it for winter activities

Light and Hella Warm

This looks like a swimmers cap when you wear it but its really a great choice for those early spring days of outdoor activity. Good breathability and warmth during exercise. It is a little bit small and doesn't really come down over the ears like I wish it did.

Very Good Overall

The Tau works as advertised if you are using it while doing something active. The shell will keep off the wind and the fleece provides decent insulation. That being said, if you are just standing around, your noggin might get a little cold wearing this beanie. I'm not sure if I would use it alone in below freezing conditions.

very disappointed

I don't know what the purpose of this hat is. It has NO wind-stopping ability, so I'm freezing under it as soon as temperature drops below 50. Don't use this for sports activities as it lets every bit of wind through. If you nee something in a slightly cold room (say between 50-60 F) to heat your head up to a cosy 70F, you may want to buy it, but for that purpose it's probably a bit too much money...

It feels and looks a bit like a swim cap. its very light weight and would probably work best as a helmet liner.

Great for the Pacific Northwest!

Great semi-cold weather cover. A little tight if you have lots of hair, but keeps you warm even in the rain. Very low drag and compact.
