The Women's Stingray Jacket brings Arc'teryx innovations to inbounds turners. Arc'teryx, long known for their leadership in outerwear construction, has pumped their knowledge into a fully-featured Gore-Tex softshell. The softshell fabric gives you complete weather-protection, warmth, and a smooth feel without the crunch and crinkle found in fabrics of old. Any mountain traveler will benefit from having an adjustable powder skirt, and the Recco Reflector could help Recco-equipped patrollers detect your whereabouts if stuck or lost. *Available for US shipment only.
Bottom Line: The Arc'Teryx Stingray Jacket ensures that you'll be dressed in the best weather protection you can find.
When I bought the creme/caramel color I was a little iffy on it, but when it came in the mail I really loved it. The brushed inside is awesome and the high neck help keeps the wind out. I normally wear xs/s and was a little worried that it wouldn't fit wince Arc'teryx usually runs small, but it fits great.
Awesome design, but the collar is way too high to be comfortable. I tried everything, but the diagonal cut (which attracted me to this jacket) doesn't make leaving the collar open very easy. I went with a different Arc'teryx model with a straight zipper.
This jacket is awesome! Not only does it look great, (I have the Cloud w/contrasting orange zippers, to the envy of all my friends), but its incredibly functional. The lining is soft against bare arms when worn without another layer. The cut is very flattering and narrows at the waist. Ive worn it snowboarding, camping and hiking in the rain. I stayed dry. The wrists adjust with hook-and-loop closures to keep the elements out. The zippers winds over to the side and kept my chin from getting that nasty zipper rash. The neck comes up high enough when zipped fully to cover the chin and maximize heat retention. I kept my head warm and dry by tightening the hood adjustment feature. I was initially concerned that there wouldnt be enough pockets for all the stuff I might need to carry, my old jacket had a ton of pockets. It turns out that the two side pockets are big enough to hold what I need with the added bonus of not having to rifle through eight pockets to locate where I put it. I barely needed to use the other two smaller pockets. I rode in the snow with my phone, confident that the watertight zipper would keep it dry, which it did. The side vents are generous & really helped me cool down on a hot snowboarding day. My only comment is that I didnt find the powder skirt as effective as my last jacket because it didnt snap or attach to my pants in any way. Even when cinched, it rode up when I slipped on my rear end. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend it. Its much more versatile than just a ski jacket. I use it for most of my outdoor activities.
I decided to buy this for my girlfriend after reading through many reviews. I don't know where to start. The pic. shown doesn't do justice. You will not appreciate the color unless you see it in person. Its simple and subtle design will never go out of style. My girlfriend is a very, very... fashion conscious person (if you know what I mean). This jacket fits her perfectly. The design has both technical elements and elegance to it that you could wear it to the slope or out around town without ever feeling out of place. My girlfriend was iffy about the hood before she tried it on. Once she did she realize the hood was very functional and fashionable at the same time. The quality and workmanship is second to none. The material is just great. It regulates temperature extremely well. The fleece lining inside is smooth and soft. It's so comfortable that you could wear it over a short sleeve shirt without ever feeling cold on your forearms. How do I know that? Well.. I bought myself a SideWinder AR and a Scorpion Jacket. Scorpion is very similar to Stingray.
One more time Arc'teryx has reach the point of perfection. light weight, comfy, great colors (I got the yellow one), perfectly designed. Just plan to purchase an M if you usually wear an S, because they slightly undersize their gear.
I had read another posted review but thought I'd still give it a try. Unfortunately, I ended up with the same result - returning this jacket because the neck was stiff and awkward. I did end up going with another Arc 'teryx jacket (Beta) and love it.
This winter, I've turned into a real Arc'teryx fan. This is the best ski jacket I've ever owned. It has amazing construction: the perfectly taped seams keep the wind and snow out, and yet the garment breathes. It's comfortable, practical, resists dirt, and it's also stylish! For the first time I've found a jacket that combines practicality with style. In combination with my other Arc'teryx under garmetns, I'm ready for any winter weather, hot or cold, inbounds or backcountry. A total winner!!
