Lightweight stretch nylon, a gusseted crotch, and articulated knees all add to the unrestricted feel you get in the Arc'teryx Men's Rampart Pants. Designed for the trails and cliffs, these Arc'teryx pants take on a multi-day hike or weekend of cragging without breaking a sweat. OK, so pants don't sweat anyway, but in these lightweight pants, neither will you. *Only available for US shipment.
Bottom Line: Go light, move freely, wear the Arc'teryx Rampart Pants.
I have gone hiking with these pants in up to about 75 degrees and have been comfortable--the nylon is light and breathes well. I bought this pants with the same intention of using them for hiking/backpacking in the summertime, and so far so good.
Excellent fit, super comfortable and light weight, especially in warm weather. Partially water repellent. The pockets are cleverly designed and do away with velcro or zippers. So, no fumbling in getting stuff in/out quickly. Bought a second pair already!!
I just received these pants in the mail. I love the quality and styling. Unfortunately I'm in between sizes on everything, i wish that they made 35" waist. The 36's are a little loose to where when i put a belt on they bunch up. I was wondering if anybody has the 34" to measure the actual size of the waist. I don't want to order them just to find out that they're too small.
Very comfortable and lightweight but protective too. I live in Seattle and wear them on rainy/drizzly days on my 2 mile walk to work. They keep me dry plus they look good enough to wear throughout the day at the office. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
I took these pants to a special missions assessment in some very harsh and hot terrain/climate. They kept me dry; however, the crotch runs high on them causing some irritation. If you plan to be using them in the midwest I would be cautious of the thin material... the burrs on some of the vegetation will tear away at your shins. Plus there is no zipper or buttons on the pockets
Recommendation: replace the crotch with a stretchy fabric of some sort to increase mobility and stitch some reinforced fabric to the shin area for extra protection
How are the legs in these pants room wise? I have a small waist (29) but big legs from biking so lots of pange either fit my waist and look like spandex on my legs and ass - or fit everywere else bt have a gant wast. Hekp here - if these pan ts are good and bagy thrun thry just ay work. Thanks!
I was so happy to find pants like this with an inseam for tall people!
While they are a bit expensive, Arc'teryx does not disappoint. I found these pants perfect for hiking in warm weather. They breathe well and dry very quickly after they get wet. I liked the numerous non-bulky pockets, too.
The only negative that I could find is that there is a bit of that nylon 'whoosh whoosh' when you walk around. In my opinion, it was not worth deducting a star because it was minor and to be expected as they are made almost entirely of nylon.
These have replaced my North Face convertible pants as my favorite hiking pants. Perfect fit (I'm 5'10", 180, wear 32/30), not too baggy (and that makes them look sharp enough when you're off the trail) and the stretch aspect of the fabric makes them super comfy. The material dries very quickly when wet. Finally, the pockets are useful, as the stretch fabric means that your legs don't bind when hiking with big items in the pockets.
I have got two Rampart pants, in different colors. I will get a third one soon. They are lightweight and easy to pack in a cabin bag. Very good water resistence and breathability. Very nice fit and confortable pockets. Good for urban jungle and hicking trails. I would strongly recommend them to a friend and I would do so with most of Arcteryx stuff.
The Rampart pants are really comfortable. Super light and seem to offer a lot of wind protection in case it gets cold. The sizing was spot on. As soon as you see an Arc'teryx product you like, buy it, you won't be disappointed.
I got these in 34-35 and I'm 6" 6" in. tall. I couldn't ask for a better fit tho my actual inseam size is 38 in. I have total free range of movement and the articulated knees seem to match up with mine.I, also, bought same sized Palisades pants and the fit is slightly more roomy and lengthy with the RAMPART PAnts. Only minus so far, is the cargo pockets catch on to limbs and such once in awhile
