Arc'teryx uses a stretch nylon material and gusseted crotch to give the Men's Palisade Pants excellent mobility and keep you traveling comfortably on the trail. The low-profile nylon belt fits well under a backpack's waist-belt or a climbing harness, so you won't have bruised hips by the end of the day. Two zippered thigh pockets keep small necessities like snacks and lip balm handy when you get outdoors with these durable Arc'teryx pants.
Bottom Line: Move freely and hike in comfort when you wear the Arc'teryx Palisade Pants.
but they're just not the style of finish that I'm looking for. No flaps on pockets seemed to make the entire pant look and fit more like tights than hiking/climbing pants. I guess at 6'3" tall I just didn't feel comfortable in them...my issue, I know.
keeping with the tradition of Arc'teryx, these pants are made incredibly well, they fit incredibly well and they feel, well, incredible. They are light, yet they keep the wind well controlled. You can't go wrong with anything Arc'teryx makes.
I got last years model for half price and had to compromise on size so they fit a bit loose.. Still really nice, it's very hard for pockets to get caught on limbs and such. I like the back pockets and they keep my wallet in just the right place to be least noticeable. Great for summer. Am waiting for a sale that has my exact size and plan to buy more!!!
Write your answer here...yes, I am a 34-36 waist and I, actually bought a 38 in waist cause it was on sale and the belt will cinch up to fit and stay snug
I have this great pair of Mountain Hardware pants, made of nylon, with a twill weave, making them feel similar to cotton, but retaining some water-repellant attributes. I was wondering what this fabric felt like, is it more like quick-dry nylon, or more cotton-ish?
I've logged over 200 back-country miles both on- and off-trail with these pants. They still look great. The fit for me is very comfortable. They dry very fast - faster than other nylon pants I have owned. I normally wear a size 32 but required a 34 tall in the Palisade (I'm 6', 175lbs). The material is a little noisy when you move in them.
I like the design and material but the sizing seems to run big. They were way too long and would need to be shortened. I ordered the Gamma LT pants instead...I've tried these on before and they seem to be a better fit.
Just finished a rim-to-rim of the Grand Canyon in Arc'teryx Palisades--and I found them absolutely the most comfortable pants I've ever owned. They keep you warm, they keep you dry, they keep you cool. There very light weight and stay around my waist where they're placed. A worthwhile investment. I used to hike in jeans; never again.
The gusseted crotch, integrated belt, lightly fleeced waistband, lightweight stretch material, and great cut make the Palisade incredibly comfortable. You can pretty much put them on and forget they're there (in a good way).
The zip pockets let me hop on a bike without losing anything, but still lay comfortably parallel with my thighs.
I recommend these pants for nearly almost any purpose, unless you need serious weather or physical protection. In that case find something thicker.
I had no problems with sizing; I just checked myself against the sizing chart linked near the product price.
I ordered two pairs of Palisade pants. On one, some of the weld on a pocket was not done. Had to return it. Also, the cargo pockets on this pant are placed too low. If you actually put stuff in them and walk about, the side of your knee will get banged up. The bottom of the cargo pocket should be at least a couple of inches above the knee joint. The overall quality of the construction seems to have gone down now that Arc has moved production to China. Hope Arc brings back the Blaze pant (with two cargo pockets this time). Hope they also iron things out with their Chinese manufacturer as well.
pretty stoked on these pants, lots of movement to them, and lightweight enough to not getcha all sweaty. pretty water resistant, and stylish enough to wear around town. sizing-fits pretty true to size, a little more on the tight fitting side of things, but not uncomfortably tight. Waist was true to size, and leg length is a little longer than normal. overall, excellent pants. buy them
Fantastic pants! I live & work in the desert/mountian area of Iraq and Turkey and these pants have now taken over as my every day all wear-all pants! Perfect in size and length (34x30)
