Arc'teryx Gamut Pant - Men's - 2007

Arc'teryx constructed their Men's Gamut Pants with heavyweight cotton canvas to make them burly enough to take on bushwack hikes and granite offwidths. These pants should be on the legs of hikers and climbers who wear out their clothes so fast that a tube of chapstick lasts longer than a pair of pants. The Gamut Pants' gusseted crotch makes them comfortable to move in, and Arc'teryx gave them a relaxed fit to help them look right at home back in town.

Bottom Line: The Arc'teryx Gamut Pants—burly.

African hunt tested

I wore these pants on a recent two week Cape Buffalo hunting safari in the Masailand region of Tanzania. They performed superbly. Comfortable on the plane, and sturdy in the bush. A very well made pant.

Great pants

These aren't the best "khakis" you'll ever find, but they are about the best you'd ever find in a department store setting--which is about where the pricing puts it. It is doubtful that these could ever double for dress pants--the pattern/stitching isn't conservative enough (logo is stitched on side), and sections are obviously designed for outdoors activities. What these are--are rugged pants for just about any outdoor occasion. The back pocket zippers are top notch, and the waistline liner is classic Arc'teryx (love the waist button too). The waist/inseam measurements (for me) were spot on. The stitching is impressive, and the material is rugged/comfortable. Overall, these are perfectly priced pants--and it's oh so hard to find attractive khakis that AREN'T dress-only. I own two of these.

I disagree about these being "heavy". They're not too thick, and the material is about as heavy as your average pair of dockers--and not so much as jeans pants. The material here is much more rugged/durable than your average dockers

Check the sizing guide which is in the center of the page--I ordered a size 30-30 through steep/cheap when it was offered. They actually do come in different inseam sizes (usually 30 or 32). If you're ordering, contact them and confirm they have the right inseam size for you

decent pants with great sewing pattern, would be better if made in a double-front, but its a comfortable pair of pants suited for bouldering and buildering

Great Pants!

These pants have been great. Sizing was spot on, and they are very comfortable. I don't think I would go hiking in them as they are a little heavy for that. But around town they kick ass as a casual pant. I liked them so much I bought a second pair.
