Take advantage of the versatility of the Arc’teryx Men’s Gamma LT Jacket when you want to fit in a trip to the crag or ski lift on a spring day. This breathable, moisture-wicking outer layer keeps you warm and dry in cool temperatures and acts as a mid-layer when the mercury drops. The Gamma shrugs off water and snow thanks to its DWR treatment. Its articulated design and gusseted underarms provide full range of motion. Cinch up the stretch hem drawcord for a more dialed-in fit.
Bottom Line: This three-season softshell is at your disposal.
This light Soft shell jacket was a surprise for me..light, durable, high performance- great cut with no shoulder seams but with longer gusset pieces under the arms so it produces no lift of the jacket while lifting your arms.(aliitle bit better lift than my other Gamma SV jacket since the Gamma SV uses thicker materials)I think this is a plus. Good zipper, nice collar when fully zipped. You get more usage out of this jacket because of its lighter, EZ to wear in various seasons and one can layer with other pieces...Minor Cons are--The material is light, but a little scratchy on bare skin on the inside ..when wearing a take top under this jacket. Get it when its on sale from Backcountry...thanks
See the comp for the Accelero to complete these answers. Comparing the Gamma LT pullover to the Gamma LT jacket. These use different fabrics, with the Gamma LT PO being a single layer of stretch woven fabric and the Gamma LT jacket a "plated" fabric using nylon on the face and polyester inside-this is a really cool fabric that is a single layer, but with different threads. Nylon-durable; Polyester-moisture management. So, the PO is lighter, and more stretchy, and a tiny bit more breathable (minor difference) Gamma LT jacket is really tough, still breathes really well, and sheds weather, but is a bit bigger if it's rolled up in your pack. Hope these help!
Hi again. The Arc'teryx Gamma LT jacket is built with a stretchier, more abrasion resistant fabric than the Arc'teryx Epsilon AR. The Epsilon AR has the advantage of being a bit more breathable, and has really great water resistance due to the all-polyester fabrics. The Gamma LT still resists moisture, but in heavy weather the Epsilon has a bit better resistance. My personal preference is the Gamma LT jacket, and partly because of the looks.
Just got mine! Loved the coffee color! Pretty much, it's an uninsulated soft shell jacket for cool, misty morning bike ride. The material is very thin and quite packable when it gets too warm. The fit I think is more of a Relaxed and Tall. I was hoping for more of a slimmer fit, but the roomy collar, lengthy sleeves, and longer shirt tail works great for me. You might have to size down if you want it to act as a mid-layer. I thought Arcteryx put the best ever zippers in their jacket. The main zipper on this one feels like the one I have on my Denali's.
The differences are the Gamma is a very breathable fabric, not very windproof and only water resistant. The shift is a more "sealed" jacket. Much more windproof and waterproof (not a 100% on either) but not as breathable. The Apex is a city/non technical jacket. Hope this helps.
I'm done wearing regular sweaters...this is the replacement. Arc'teryx is filling up my closet, fast! I kinda thought Arc'teryx was a fad until I realized this gear is T O T L (top o' the line) carbide is cooler than it looks online
The Arc'teryx Gamma LT jacket doesn't have a liner per se, but it uses a plated fabric, which uses nylon and polyester threads. The weaving technique used puts the nylon on the outside (for durability and weather resistance) and the polyester inside (for moisture management and softness). It makes it a cool piece because it has multiple performing fabrics in a light, stretchy textile. great jacket for the money!
I'm guessing its similiar to the Gamma LT pullover, which doesn't have a lining. If its anything like the Gamma LT pullover then its got a lot of stretch to it.
