If simplicity is your ideal, then the Arc'teryx Classic Beanie is the winter hat for you. Its classic wool material and simple design calls out to skiers, climbers, and winter hikers who don't want a bunch of fancy, unneeded stuff on their beanie. So grab the Classic Beanie and get yourself to the mountains.
It's no surprise that Arc'teryx is extremely proud of their merch. I bit anyway as I own some of their gear and am satisfied with it. This hat is just an average grade wool hat with their logo stitched on. There is a fleece ear band that helps but too much of the wool cap extends below the fleece band, which results in a very itchy hat. Better look for another hat.
Well, beanies are beanies. That being said, I like this one pretty well. It has a good fit with no bunching up in weird spots. It is definatly warm. The fleece lining lessens the itch factor, but I've noticed if its pretty warm outside it still itches a little. It's worth the cash.
I have a good number of beanies and quite a few of them Arc'teryx. This beanie isn't anything special; standard materials & standard feel. But it is a warm hat, the wool is just a bit itchy for me, I would recommend a different Arc'teryx beanie unless you are partial to wool.
Like the name says this is a classic beanie, with classic features. Wool. Not synthetic high tech features in this, which I like. It has a medium depth which is good for all but the biggest heads of hair. Not itchy and very warm.
I wore the Classic Beanie while skiing in 20-29 degree temps. The beanie was comfortable and kept me warm. I think that it would be just as warm at lower temps. I like the inner liner band, I think it's fleece. The beanie is also well constructed so it should wear well.
This Arc'teryx Beanie is all the winter cap you will ever need. Soft, durable and warm. It is hard to beat wool for warmth, breathability and water resistance. Lamb wool or Merino is itch less. There is no comparison with this beanie to your cotton/poly or acrylic beanie. Toby in Alaska
warm and stylish, but itchy an a bit tight for my big norwegian head. this beanie is no better performance-wise than say a military wool watch cap, and trhree times more expensive, so unless the logo and looks are important too you, get something else.
This beanie is the best of all beanies. It is softer, warmer, and better looking than any other beanie Ive ever worn. The best hat purchase Ive ever made. It is rather pricy, but definitely worth the extra money. My first experience using this beanie was on a multi-day winter backpacking snowshoe trip up in the White Mountains. Perfect.
It's a little tight fitting at first but that's probably because it was new. It's warm but not uncomfortably warm. I wish it was a little longer but that's okay. Overall, very good.
I was worried reading some of the reviews, because I, too, have a bit of a big bubble head, however, the beanie fits perfectly just over the earlobe (although I have short, thin hair). If you have lots of hair it might not come all of the way to your earlobe. I don't find it itchy, and it is super warm wool. Typical Arc'teryx quality.
