Arc'teryx Celeris Jacket - Men's

Whether it’s a cool-weather trail run or a multi-pitch rock route, the Arc’teryx Men’s Celeris jacket is designed to resist wind and light moisture when you need it and pack up small when you don’t. The stretchy, athletic fit and gusseted underarms give you unrestricted movement, and the hem draw cord seals out cold air. The side stow pocket stores your MP3 player, and the reflective logos keep you visible on in-town runs.

Bottom Line: A featherweight wind layer for light-and-fast pursuits.

Loved it on the A.T.

Price aside, I love this wind jacket. I find it to be a no-brainer to pack. It functions wonderfully, even sheds water- though I wouldn't count on it as a rain jacket. It's not meant to be one. I hiked 82 miles on the A.T. this (early) spring and it really helped me regulate my temp on windy ridgelines. It is a very simple jacket made with quality materials. I don't know how it compares with every other wind jacket out there, because I haven't tested others. I plan to always throw it in my pack.

I can't give you a number on the CFM but the breathability is probably about equal seeing as the materials are the same.

Pretty good....

Just got this windbreaker. The actual color is redder than in the photo - more of a brick-red than an orange. Good news is that BC matched the $119 price (as shown on Arc'Teryx's website). I like it and would recommend it. It is a simple design, and therefore probably not going to reveal all that much difference for having been made in China, as opposed to Canada. But, it's not bad... however if you're an Arc' fan and know what you're looking at, you'll see that this windbreaker is just not quite up to Canadian quality - but you REALLY have to know what you're looking at to tell - it's just a "feel" thing. It's just little things like the way it drapes, the straightness of the stitching lines, and a slight wavinees in the fabric.

Isn't the retail price for his jacket $119 not $149? I looked around and this site is the only one with this price.

you can see if backcountry will do a price match, but backcountrys prices usually match up with the companys MSRP, or they sell it cheaper-------Just checked the new arcteryx website, it says the mrsp of this jacket is $119

Tissue thin

I knew this jacket was going to be thin, but, it's REALLY THIN! Unless you must have everything Arc'teryx makes, save your money and find something else.

Arc'Teryx Celeris Jacket

By:
July 26, 2009

Typical Arc'T price, not typical Arc'T quality and fit.. I bought this jacket for a light windshell to throw in my pocket while running. Very light as advertised, but the fit and quality seemed to be lacking. After putting the jacket on, it had a very baggie fit unlike most Arc'T shells, and was also very short. I purchased a large, which was the right size, but the jacket has a very generic cut to it. One of the biggest reasons that you pay so much for Arc'T clothing is for the materials and cut/fit. Not so much with the Celeris. For about 40 bucks less, you get better quality and a great athletic fitting jacket with the M.H. ghost anorak.
