The Arc'teryx Beta SL Jacket weighs only 15.2 ounces and offers a range of function that heavier shells don't offer. WaterTight zips and waterproof breathable Gore-Tex PacLite and Gore-Tex XCR materials create a lightweight jacket that can ride out the roughest weather. Gusseted underarms, complete with pit-zips, facilitate both dynamic moves and efficient heat transfer, while a short length won't interfere with your pack or harness. Large pockets hold climbing skins or lunch, and a helmet-compatible hood adds protection. *Available for US shipment only.
Bottom Line: A lightweight Gore-Tex jacket that's ready to take on burly mountain weather.
Well worth the money spent on this jacket. Wore it last weekend while climbing Quandary in Colorado with only a Patagonia Capaline 3 shirt under it and stayed plenty warm. Great jacket at a reasonable price. I would suggest it to everyone that wants to keep warm at a fair price.
This shell performs as advertised. Easy to put a heavy fleece underneath (my choice Maverick SV) when it's a blizzard. Hood adjustment is easy and precise for my bald dome to a helmet when I ski. Heavier fabric on top of shoulders protect from pack straps or skis.
This is by far one of the best jackets I have ever purchased. It is extremely well made, but the best part is that it is so lightweight you can roll it up and easily fit it into any pack you are carrying. It also breathes on vigorous hikes, so you don't get covered in sweat. I only wish they came in more colors!
Ill put it simply this jacket rules. It's super windproof and waterproof, extremely light and the fit/cut is ideal for skiing. The pitzips are well placed and effective, the waterproof zips are fantastic and the stow-away hood is great. I wear it around town as a casual jacket as much as I wear it shredding on the hill and it's never let me down, super light and very high performance jacket, very happy with it.
it´s raining since i have the jacket...but who cares :-).exactly what i was looking for. for fast mountain sports where have to count each gramm. light, waterproof, fit´s great, not too long, stowable hood. quality as arcteryx stands for. absolut nothing to add. i am happy
I have worn this jacket in a pouring wind driven rain lasting for a couple of hours, and my upper body was bone dry. Jacket is very nice looking as well. Arc'teryx will be my first choice of outerwear in the future.
This was my first Arc'teryx product. I never thought I'd spend the money for it, but this jacket is going to be my favorite for a longtime. Great fitting, lightweight, packable, durable, large fitted hood, and has strong VELCRO®-brand fastener cuffs to seal you off from the downpours. I used this jacket hiking with pack up above snowline. The long pit vents make it very easy to regulate heat. The hood tucks away nicely in collar. The newest favorite jacket of mine, I can't wait to use it on the slopes this winter.
