Need a partner for those bad-weather days? Pair up with the Arc'teryx Accomplice Jacket to take advantage of hardface Polartec Wind Pro fleece. Instead of a regular fleece that pills like crazy and blocks the wind about as well as a chain-link fence, this Arc'teryx jacket provides a level of protection rivaled only by softshells. Wear the Accomplice Jacket by itself during a hike, climb, or ski tour, or throw it on under your shell jacket for a little extra warmth on really frigid days.
Bottom Line: Puts your other fleece jackets to shame.
Jacket represents Arc quality construction. A fleece jacket with some wind protection yet breathable. It has a smooth outer surface so makes layering easy. The color catcus may be too loud for some and the grey too dull for others. The pockets have perforated interiors that provide some ventilation for active pursuits but not for warming your hands when standing around.
This is my favorite fleece jacket. I have a Burton AK and an Arc'teryx Delta AR. The Accomplice is light, repels wind and water, very stylish (particularly in black), and very comfy. It can be worn around town here in NYC it is that cool. But it is also very light and functional and warm. I have used it as a mid-layer and then an outer layer either warming up inside from the frigid cold or on milder days. It ain't cheap, but it is so well-made and so form/function strong, that I am very glad I bought it.
Is the Accomplice just a full-zip version of the Tau? I'm looking for a wind-resistant/wind proof fleece that can also be a good mid-layer. Would the Tau be better for this sort of role?
The Accomplice and Tau use the same Hardface fleece. The Tau is cut a bit closer and longer, and works better as a layer, in my opinion. This hardface fabric is wind and water resistant (not proof) and layers nicely due to the smooth face, which also makes it way more durable than any other fleece out there. One of my very favorite pieces!
Superb quality, fit and very stylish. The quality is great, you can tell right away this jacket will last a long time. Its very light and thin, but surprisingly warm for its thinness. WindStopper fabric helps it keep the wind out, and the inside is super soft fleece. Its a great cut that looks as good as it performs. I have to cobalt color and its really beautiful, lighter and bluer then the pics on this site show. Recently took this on a backpacking trip and it worked great as a midlayer at night and as my outer layer during the day hiking, I never wanted to take it off.
I bought this jacket(small, black)for cool weather and I can't wait to use it more. It's amazingly comfortable and looks awesome. I've gotten numerous compliments on the jacket's look. The anti-wind fabric works as described and the fleece lined pockets are a nice addition. It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for! Note: Be careful about getting dust in the zipper, completely my fault but it hasn't really worked the same ever since...I suppose this is to be expected with any jacket though!
well this is a great jacket, i'm about 5'8", 150lbs, S fits perfect and gives the athletic look Very thin yet reliable and windproof. It is kind of waterproof but no really for heavy rain It's also very stylish The only thing is that the color of picture is different from the real thing especially titanium color. I thought it will be light titanium color, but it turned out to be a LOT darker.I returned it and exchange it to cactus. Cactus was okay, almost the same like the picture except it is slightly darker.
I love my Arc'teryx Accomplice jacket. I am wearing it as I type this review (and I'm in an office on Wall St...it's cold today!). This is my favorite fleece jacket compared to my Burton AK and Arc'teryx Delta AR. It is stretchy like a softshell (so cool), light, warm, (but not hot), blocks the wind, and very cool looking. I have black and can wear this around town in NYC and it is very urban. Just as great, light, functional and cool-looking jacket. I wear it either as a mid-layer under my The North Face RedPoint or alone. I also like the hip-length.
I was a little dissapointed in the accomplice jacket. Looks very good in pictures, but when wearing it, it is not as atletic fit as I wanted. I am 6'4" and 215lbs, and the jacket fits nice on the arms, shoulders and chest, but is to baggy around the waist. Could have something to do with my body shape I guess. Anyway, the jacket performs very nice in moderate wind conditions, and is as wind and water resistand as an average softshell jacket (not the expensive brands). The hardface also make it nice to wear under a proshell jacket, very low friction makes movement easy. I would recomend the jacket, but get at least 30% off to make sure you are happy with the value of the jacket.
I have owned this jacket for a year now, and have used it under numerous conditions. From day hiking, to Appalachian Trail hiking. The Accomplice jacket has been Excellent! With light weight construction combined with stylish look, this jacket can literally be worn anywhere! Tony
This jacket (cactus) is probably the most versatile fleece I own. I've worn it alone in the 35 to 50 degree range in sunny, shady and windy weather. I wear it to town and in the mountains both. The thin, lightweight hardface polartech is softer than the Sniper, it breathes well enough that it works under a hard shell without getting clammy yet it is wind resistant alone. I have worn it under a hard shell while snowshoeing in the mid teens with a mid weight icebreaker base layer and have been very comfortable. I can't remark on it's rain resistance but do know that it sheds wet snow.
Arcteryx no longer makes this jacket.. at least it's not on their website. The color green is more like Kermit the Frog than my titanium Gore Tex shell...Cactus?? The outside texture is like racing sailcloth and not so windproof to my minds eye. The interior is soft but lots thinner than I expected. I intend to use this beneath my shell.. or I'd return it. It is very packable though. If it wont perform in 30 degree weather, when I get there, I will return it. The rating and description I read on the website is not what I expected to get in the mail. Sorry...
