If you own a cookstove or even just a pot and some matches, these freeze dried and dehydrated meals are the way to go. They're lightweight, compact, and super easy to prepare. The meals are packaged in resealable foil pouches. Most weigh between 5 and 7 ounces and offer 2 servings. To prepare a meal, just add a couple cups of hot water right to the pouch. After trying these, I realized Mountain House is superior to AlpineAire in the quality and consistency of their dehydrated food. I would have given this a rating of 3, but since MH doesn't seem to make anything with mashed potatoes, I gave it a 4.

These are pretty tasty when prepared per directions. You have to mix the gravy and potatoes separately and then pour the gravy onto the taters. This is a pain if your traveling light and have only one pot. Really does serve two!

Not bad...they need to add more pepper and salt to this dish. A bit messy to prepare. The gravy is made separate from the potatoes. If you have some spice and add some peas to it, you will be happy.
