AlpineAire Leonardo Da Fettuccine - 2007

If you own a cookstove or even just a pot and some matches, these freeze dried and dehydrated meals are the way to go. They're lightweight, compact, and super easy to prepare. The meals are packaged in resealable foil pouches. Most weigh between 5 and 7 ounces and offer 2 servings. To prepare a meal, just add a couple cups of hot water right to the pouch. A few minutes later you're ready to chow.

Bland But Filling

One of AA's original freeze dried meals. I'm not a vegetarian but some type of meat additive would help. Try adding red pepper for both heat & taste. CAUTION: Too many of these meals can be responsible for food fantasies in the mountains, if you know what I mean!

A bit of grated cheese and you have a hot and tasty meal. We added peas to ours and it worked well.

Mediocre at best

Bland and not very appetizing. This brand makes better meals than this.

christmas bonus?

So, I had to eat this for work.

Many people would think eating backpacking food would be some sort of punishment for a heinious crime, but not with the leonardo de fetticine. Its actually so good, that at the end of the summer, I smuggled some out of the camp where I worked, and I eat it for dinner once a week...
