AlpineAire Bandito Scramble

The AlpineAire Bandito Scramble proves that when camping, freeze dried and dehydrated meals are the way to go. If you own a cookstove or even just a pot and some matches, these freeze dried and dehydrated meals are the way to go. They're lightweight, compact, and super easy to prepare. The meals are packaged in resealable foil pouches. Most weigh between 5 and 7 ounces and offer 2 servings. To prepare a meal, just add a couple cups of hot water right to the pouch. A few minutes later you're ready to chow.

Bottom Line: You've made out like a bandit.

Great warm up breakfast!

By:

This is great stuff, warms you up on cool mornings from inside out!
Don't forget, you add water cold then pour it out and cook it.

Holy Bandito!

By:

We cooked this when it was -7ºf and were pleasantly surprised! The instructions say to use cold water, mix it and then fry them up like you would normal eggs. We couldn't stand the thought of cold water so we stuck boiling water in the bag. Then we fried up the eggs and they were great. Nice flavor, plenty of spices, quick cook and pretty filling for 2.

beware of the bandito

I found this to be vile tasting and completely inedible despite being completely starved for food when I cooked it. I will stick to traditional oats and other less fancy dishes for breakfast.

Tasted great

I brought this on a trip with 6 guys. We all really liked this meal. You need to let it soak for longer than it says. Also, it takes quite a while to cook, but it was worth it.

Agree with Derek. Thought it was a clever title at first, to go with the five stars, but no, the "YUCK!!!" says it all.
