Ahnu Tamalpais II Hiking Shoe - Women's

So, you need to hike ten miles, cross a river, and hike another ten? None of that will be a problem with the Ahnu Women's Tamalpais II Shoe. An aggressive outsole provides all the traction you need for steep, loose, rocky terrain, and the single-pull lace system locks your foot in place with a quick tug. Ahnu constructed the Tamalpais II Shoe with a hydrophobic mesh upper to keep your foot cool during summer's scorching heat, and it dries quickly if you get it wet.

Bottom Line: For anything the trail throws your way.

Love these, but not for REAL hikes

By:
February 10, 2009

These are great lightweight shoes and I love that my feet stay cool in warmer weather. I would say they are perfect, stylish shoes for kicking around town or a light walk/hike. I would still go to my Keens for an actual hike because the tread on these is pretty light. Fit is slightly larger than normal and great for wide feet and toes.

initial review

pros: really lightweight, fit true to size, cute colors, comfy

cons: buckle is tricky to get the hang of; it takes some doing to get the right fit with the side and top lacing working together. Also, when they say mesh upper, they mean it -- I could see my toenail polish through the tops of the shoes; a little worried about the mesh tearing out on the trail. We'll have to wait and see.

Not yet trail tested...

By:
May 1, 2008

I live in the city and haven't tested these shoes on the trail yet... They have been great for day trips to the petting zoo and outdoor sporting events. No discomfort with all day wear. They did take a couple of days to break in and feel their best on your feet.

great shoe

great looking shoe. lightweight and true to size. Have worn it multiple times and it has been comfortable on all my trips. Minimal break-in period. The buckle is a little strange at first, but you get used to it quickly.
